Nice lightweight anchor. I actually got to see how would work as a land anchor if I weld two pipes to the forks so I can drive a pipe or rebar into each. This is for areas where there are not many trees and the ground is softer so for an additional or only anchor point if stuck in muck. Will update when I get that far. However, seems like a nice boat anchor.

A nice and light anchor which depending on your lake bottom can work out nicely. I have a 22' sailboat which we often anchor in the day or even sleep on the hook at our home lake. The bottom there is very muddy. I have a 15lb Danforth on the bow but it's heavy with the chain and isn't always necessary when we just want a short break and are on watch. Many times in our favorite cove to anchor, we swing a lot from the incoming boat waves and the wind. I've been wanting a rear anchor to keep us pointed the right way because we can sometimes end up with 3 or 4 people come to the cove to wait out the mid-day heat. I sometimes seem to fight to get the right scope without having too much swing when it gets crowded. This is going to be great to cinch the aft up and keep us in line.I weighed this anchor at 2lb. That's super light! I like the hoop design where if it gets stuck you can reverse over it and the hoop will slide to the over end and pull it out.The only cons on this are minor. The welding could be better and more thorough. The amount of galvanized over weld splatter makes me wonder about the overall quality. Most worrisome to me are the welds that attach the bar that the ring is on to the rest of the anchor. They only welded the outside, maybe 1/3 of the contact point. At the same time, this is one of the most critical fail points. If it breaks from there you are no longer anchored. It should be welded on the backside as well.

We have had several of these anchors over the years, and this one is just as good as the others! We put this on our 20 ft pontoon, that we rent, and it holds the boat great! Well, sometimes, too well. The reason we have to keep buying these is sometimes, inexperienced boaters, will get these stuck. The slip ring design allows you to easily pull the anchor out backwards, but you have to know how to use it! Either way, they are light weight, easy to use, and extremely affordable for what we use them for. Couldn't recommend these any more!

I ordered this anchor so I can safely anchor my boat when watching the Garvey races without drifting into the race zone or the channel. I just need to get an anchor rode and some new line and I’ll be all set. It is galvanized for longevity. It’s lightweight which is good for moving it around the boat because its functional design is what keeps it anchored.

On days with a strong tide or heavy winds I like to have a stern anchor to use to keep the boat from swinging around when we're anchored at the sandbar. I am in a boat club and the boats are typically bowriders or center consoles between 20-23 feet with 150 or 200 motors - and this small 5 lb. anchor, when properly set, will hold the boat steady just fine. The slip ring is a nice touch to help dislodge on rocky bottoms or if the anchor is wedged into some mangrove roots.

I appreciate the lightweight design and galvanized construction of this anchor. It’s built to perform well in the conditions it’s intended for, specifically sandy and muddy bottoms. However, this isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for every situation. The recommended length of 15-19 feet really depends on the weight of your watercraft. This anchor is suited for fishing boats or other lightweight watercraft.Overall, it has a solid design for muddier or sandy bottoms and features adequate galvanized steel construction, providing good durability. These function well, it's lightweight, and has a good design and build quality.4/5 Stars for me.

CONS: None.PROS: Light. Hold.Additional Thoughts: I took this out on my 20 foot pontoon boat. Now this is not an ordinary pontoon boat like you would normally see today. No, this one is mostly steel with some aluminum bolted on. This boat is heavy! Not only that, but it has a bimini that covers almost half the boat which turns into a sail with the slightest winds. I use a 15 pound tri-fluke cast iron anchor on the front to hold the boat in place and wanted another anchor at the rear to help stop the boat from spinning cause by the wind. When I first got this 5 pound anchor I thought there was no way this was going to hold this boat. I used this anchor instead of the 15 pounder, to see how it compared. Wow! First, I may have had to let out a little more line to allow the anchor to dig in, but it held with the top open and 10mph winds and a 2mph current. I was extremely impressed. Then, when I pulled the anchor up, I could not believe it. The anchor is so light, I couldn't even tell it was still attached to the rope! The rest of the day, this was the only anchor I used. Of course, it did not stop the boat from spinning, but this might replace my normal anchor and the old anchor can go to the back of the boat to stop the spin.LovingTheRetiredLife

This boat anchor with slip ring is awesome.I like the claw style prongs. They move a bit both left and right that helps grip the bottom of the lake.It also has a bar stretching across the bottom that helps with gripping too. There is a sturdy O ring where you connect the rope. At first the O ring seemed a bit skinny, but it is soldered around and is very sturdy. This anchor is a great weight. Easy to lift, throw, and pull out of the water. It says it is 5 lbs and I can attest it is very lightweight. In my early testing this anchor really grabs hold when I pull on it in the water. We live at a lake that is mostly a mud bottom and it grips nicely. And seems easy to pull out as well.I have a pontoon that fits the length requirements and am looking forward to using this new anchor. It’s winter here right now so I can’t test it with the boat. This anchor is lightweight, sturdy, and well made. I highly recommend it.
