Steering on 1992 Dodge D250 was about as bad as it gets. Truck has 196,000 miles on it and steering slop was horrible. This steering shaft fixed that! It's as tight now as when it was new. Wasn't too bad to install although I don't care for the set screw design. Not bad enough to take away a star though. Price is high but this truck has been 100% dependable and is worth investing in.Look at the pics of the OEM unit. Nothing but mush inside that little box. It's a wonder the truck had any steering at all. This shaft eliminates that altogether with a quality universal joint.

This Borgeson 000940, made in the USA, is extremely well built, heavy duty and very high quality!!The sliding shaft section is extremely durable and heavy duty and has a locking collar needed to keepthe section from sliding out of position. The U-Joint on the the end of the shaft where it attaches to the Steering Gear Box is very high quality!!This Original Brand Name Borgeson 000940 Steering Shaft is the REAL DEAL!! Worth the extra money!I'd recommend buying the Borgeson 000941 Rag Joint and replace it at the same time!Don't fall for the cheap (1/2 price) knock-off on eBay like I did and that one wasn't worth a crap and was shotin about 65 miles. Caused my lower steering column bushing to get ruined, and all kinds of slop because of no locking collar and was of flimsy build.Asked for to return from ebay seller "epolaris_b" No response from seller and no refund!! eBay couldn't help!DO NOT buy the knock offs on ebay using the same number 000940 as the Original Borgeson Made in USA one!!Buy an Original Borgeson!!!

Good product for the money fixed almost all of the play in the steering just don’t forget to slide the locking collar up and if you don’t want it to rust right away paint it before installing. Fit my 1991 dodge w250 perfect.

I installed this product on my baby (‘85 Ramcharger) today. I’ve put about 50 miles on so far and the improvement in vehicle control is truly amazing. The days of going a 1/4 turn one way or the other to steer in a straight line are gone. If you can relate to the “slack” of which I speak. Do not hesitate to purchase and install this steering shaft, you will not be disappointed. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

I picked this up for my 1990 Dodge/Cummins W250. I can't really say it made a big difference in the steering in terms of removing slack or slop, as my system was pretty good to start with. I picked this one up because I was doing a lot of front end work at the time, and I knew sooner or later the old Mopar unit would start showing it's age. That said, this was a proactive measure. As stated in some of the other reviews, the old OEM couplers tend to get pretty sloppy after a mile. The Borgeson shaft is a nice solid unit. The telescopic feature is smooth and firm, with no slop whatsoever. I have no complaints with it at all with the exception of the price. For the money your paying, it should at least, "At Minimum", come through with some form of anti-corrosive coating from the manufacturer. Truthfully, I could whip one of these up in my own shop for a few bucks... if I had the time. Most of us just want to get back out on the road however.

Borgeson shafts are a little pricy but I'm very pleased with the outcome. It will fix your steering as long as all other steering components are in good shape. Inspect all steering on front end of vehicle then mock up shaft to make sure it fits properly then take it back off clean and degrease before painting because it does come bare metal and will rust eventually. My 86 dodge truck steers like brand new now.
