Too thick or the frame of the shoe is too big for a 2011 GMC Sierra SLE 5.3. .With the adjuster set all the way back, the new drum, AND EVEN THE OLD DRUM WILL NOT GO BACK ON! Trying to get either drum on is just chewing up the side of the pads!UPDATE: I ended up buying a second set, thinking maybe somehow Bosch dropped the ball on quality control with the first set of pads....NOPE! I purchased a second/EXACT set, and those didn't fit either! So, instead of forcing the drum onto those shoes(and chewing the hell out of 'em), I boxed 'em back up, and am now returning for a refund. I ended up making a trip to a retail auto parts store and grabbed a set of drum shoes (different brand).....and wouldn't ya know? EVERYTHING went together as they should(and as easy as they should).So, it was DEFINITELY Boschs' slightly oversized drum shoes that were the problem! Just an FYI- the first set of Bosch shoes I purchased was so jacked up from this ordeal that one of the shoes had 2 cracks in it, and a ton of chipping, there was no way they were returnable (or usable). Also, I knew it wasnt the new drum because it was identical in size to the original. I guess I could of possibly ground the shoe frames to make them fit but, why should I have to fabricate? Isn't that the whole point of buying new?..... These shoes DEFINITELY DO NOT FIT my truck's rear end. I have always thought highly of Bosch products, but this endeavor has swayed me a whole lot from that train of thought! I don't know if Boschs' quality control for their drum shoe dept. is incompetent, or perhaps the 2 different sets I received were isolated defects (which would mean that I got unlucky.....TWICE!) or that these are for another model of my truck, even though Amazon claims they are correct in fitment. Well Bosch, one thing is certain, 1 millimeter can make a huge difference in correct fitment when it comes to brake shoes! I will stay away from Bosch when it comes to my vehicles from here on out!
