Product Description

BOSTITCH Hammer Stapler for Construction, 1/4-Inch to 3/8-Inch (PC2K)

From the Manufacturer

From its extreme durability to ergonomic comfort, the Bostitch PC2K Power Slam Hammer Tacker 1/4-Inch to 3/8-Inch Manual Construction Stapler meets every expectation a contractor could place on a hammer tacker. In fact, it was recently selected as the Tool Test winner by Tools of the Trade Magazine. Bostitch achieved its surprising durability thanks to features such as a heavy duty die-cast frame and reinforced sides. Its heat-treated internal components are essential to long-life performance. The unit features an anti-jam mechanism so effective that users can often drive staples directly on top of each other without experiencing a jam. Even if the occasional jam occurs, users can expel it in a matter of seconds by flipping the unit over and striking the head against a hard surface. Weighing only 2.2 pounds, the PC2K touts ergonomic excellence with a non-slip comfort grip and long-awaited knuckle saver handle to avoid the pain of smashed fingers and scratched knuckles. The PC2K's high capacity magazine stores up to two sticks of staples (168 staples) ranging from a 1/4 to 3/8 inches long. Its fast bottom-loading mechanism and reload indicator helps the user minimize reloading downtime while monitoring the staple count with only a glance. Unlike competitive hammer tackers, the PowerSlam's fixed pusher does not fall out, which eliminates the risk of losing it on the jobsite.

Have had this for a bit , purched two and put them to work. Less then 5000 staples put through them and the internal part on slide failed , very discouraged when no response was made after notifying about the issue , id like them replaced

The best hammer tracker I’ve ever used. I’ve had one for 7 years and it’s never broken down. Teach your workers that the staples get loaded from below and not the back.

It works adequately if one had a good swing radius. It works poorly in tight spaces and will jam frequently. Don't throw away your standard Arrow hand-stapler, or electric stapler, as they are superior in these tight spaces. This Bostitch even jams occasionally when one gets a good swing. It is much faster than a manual hand stapler though. It also has a bit longer "reach" than a manual or electric stapler. To achieve more stars, Bostitch must improve the staple-jamming problem.

First class. Bostitch produces excellent staplers for the desktop and the construction site. Just remember to use Bostitch staples anytime you use a Bostitch stapler. Some people think this is an inconvenience but rest assured Bostitch knows how to make staples that are compatible with its staplers. How many times have you used generic staples in a good stapler only to discover that the stapler jams more often than you would like? The only solution to this problem that I have discovered is to use Bostitch staplers and staples together. Very few jams. Nearly always a frustration free outcome!Just remember that this is a hammer stapler. Use it like you would use a hammer. I.e. strike with a hammer blow to set the staple into the wood. Don't be timid. Don't be dainty. Whack the wood with a good solid satisfying blow and you will love this tool. Heavy duty and long lasting.

I purchased this back in 2009, Ive abused the hell out of it, Its fallen off roofs, Ive loaned it to friends who i think were using it as a hammer. It still works PERFECT, I couldn't be happier with this tool.

Worked better than expected, easy to fill and use for a first timer. So, I would buy it again and so should you.

We got this as an alternative to a regular handheld stapler because we were concern the stapler wouldn't have enough oomph (especially in our lady-hands) to go through studs (for stapling insulation). And we thoughts the stapler would be tiring for the hand. This hammer tacker is not tiring for the hand, and has plenty of oomph as long as you swing it just right. But it can be awkward to use in small spaces (like a crawlspace). Very easy to load and to clear jams. Got the job done.

I am a professional building contractor for the past 30 years and had to recently purchase two of these in the past year. I have always loved and used the bostich H2B staplers and they were very easy to free jambs and held up forever. But recently bostich stopped making the H2B staples and the price jumped from $5.00 per box of 5000 to $30.00 per box of 5000. The cost of staples for these new staplers are about $5.00 per box of 5000. Do the math and you quickly buy new staplers. I bought two of these this year. Both have broke already. Very hard to get jambs out and they don't hold up to professional use. I would take my old Bostich H2B staplers hands down over these pieces of junk.Very disappointed
