Exactly what I needed for converting a hybrid to a road bike. Nice short pull v-brakes. Just need to adjust them so they are fairly close to the rim and keep wheel true.

I was looking for a long (108mm) brake at a reasonable price in anodized red and tried this companies' product. I thought this was a good look replacing my shorter V brakes that didn't clear the larger rear tire. The number one problem I immediately encountered was the brass bushing/entire brake would not fit over the brake bosses. They were too small in diameter. I used a micrometer, and they were definitely off. I've built hundreds of bikes from scratch and this has never happened with Shimano or Bombshells or any other brakes I've installed. Even cheap tektro's or other cheaper OEM Chinese made brakes. There were other QC issues. The anodizing didn't cover the entire brake. There were small areas where the anodizing didn't take to the aluminum.I could file out the brass bushing and make it fit. That worked but it is extra work that is totally unnecessary and should never be an issue buying new brakes. Another problem was the brass bushing was not flush to the brake-end piece where you screw into the inner threads to secure the brake. That presses on the brass bushing and spreads it so that you can't take off the entire brake when you need to replace the brake. All these brake bosses were covered with Phil's grease. It's surprising to me these brakes are made in Taiwan as they usually have much higher QC. Perhaps I got a bad set of brakes. But these I will not be using. I'm going back to the 108mm Bombshells in red and won't consider purchasing these brakes again. Hopefully this doesn't happen often, but I'm sticking with manufactured brakes with a history of quality, and although they cost more, they don't cause the problems these caused. Nice looking brakes, but not worth the headache. The tolerances need to be checked at the manufacturing level to solve this problem if indeed it is a problem with more than just the two pairs that I purchased for both tires.

Definitely a must do upgrade! I put these on my 29" Big Flyer! Much needed upgrade. The factory brakes where good for nothing. These box three V-brakes have me feeling safer and stopping like never before!

Top Quality. Excellent design. They are very stiff and provide firm decisive braking. They seem expensive, but come with high quality pads and overall are completely worth it. All the misc. hardware is top quality and coated for corrosion resistance also. Never disappointed with Box products. Always pleasantly surprised by the attention to small details.

First, if you're here looking at your brakes you are probably either:1) currently using Tektro brakes that came with your bike from the factory, and thus you can't fit Shimano v-brakes, and Sram is too pricey. You've heard of this Box brand before online and think they might be legit, and they are cheaper than Sram's offerings.2) looking for some pretty colorsI fell into the first category and I wish I'd have just bought the $15 Tektro M530's to upgrade the aging brakes on my bike. The mounting hardware with this kit is awful, just terrible. The bolts are the cheapest imported garbage available, not even close to spec. You get 2 arms with the pads attached, 2 bolts, the "j" bent tube, and a boot. No cable or housing. For spending double on these brakes what you would on decent quality brakes from Shimano or Tektro, you sure seem to get quite a bit less.+ pretty colors+ casting seems pretty sturdy- rusty bolts, not even stainless steel or zinc coated just regular painted steel.- mounting hardware wasn't even close to spec - I could only get bolts in half way (nowhere close to bottoming out) before needing to get out a pipe wrench to extract them and put in the bolts from the original brakes. This gives me serious doubts about the safety of the brakes if they can't get two bolts to spec.
