It's good to have a basic black tie for formal events like weddings and graduations. The last thing I feel like doing is getting one last minute for a funeral so I try to keep one on hand for the kids.This is a decent basic tie, although the inner back stitching near the bottom doesn't quite meet on the back. This isn't going to be visible, but if you have to send a kid in a tie daily somewhere, you probably want to get a more solidly constructed one.I know the site says 8-12, but I think this would look best on kids under 10- obviously depends on the size of the kid, maybe I just have taller kids than most.This is kind of like the staple tie to keep on hand for the odd formal event. Overall, works great. Recommend printing out a little diagram of how to tie a tie for your kid you keep pinned to their fancy shirt/pants/tie so they don't have to ask you every single time how to do it.
