Will it float?

Yes, the River Ute floats on the surface of the water, so it's easy to retrieve in case it goes overboard – which makes it the perfect bag for wet-wading the rivers, or tossing in your boat or kayak.

What's the difference between the CORDURA and non-CORDURA version?

The River Ute CORDURA is made from genuine CORDURA 500D Ripstop Nylon that has been coated on both sides with a permanent layer of TPU. It has a fabric feel, as opposed to a rubberized feel. Both versions are IP68 waterproof and fully submersible.
Do I have to worry about rust?

No. We intentionally use 100% non-corrosive materials and components – from UTX Duraflex buckles to polymer and stainless zippers and pullers.

This is an excellent, fully waterproof backpack. It’s a nice compact backpack size (about 12” x 18” x 6”) for portability and space.The backpack itself is very comfortable, and has nice padding on the back and straps. The removable hip belt is a nice touch as well.It is very well made, and has plenty of straps, hooks, and pockets. This keeps it very useful, practical, and versatile. It is well built, and likely will last a long time!

The waterproof fabric on this backpack is quite stiff, but that doesn't matter much—it's a backpack, not a pillow.The backpack it well-designed. The zippers all have loops to secure then when not being used. The inside has several smaller built-in pockets for keys, pens, memory cards, etc. The backpack has hip pads, which are removable.One thing to note: The designer splashed the brand *everywhere*. It doesn't affect the bag's functionality, but some people might prefer it to be a little less in-your-face.

I have been wanting a truly waterproof bag for a while! I did a lot of research and really wanted to have zipper access. It still shocks me that this was hard to find. Even workers at REI didn’t have recommendations. I’m glad I found this brand! I haven’t submerged it yet but the zipper seals and other reviews give me confidence. I was surprised to find the attached zipper glide! I thought was a nice touch. This bag feels very well thought out, with several compartments, a comfortable feel and even a detachable waist band! I’m really excited to take it out for a test drive!
