The boiler, for the espresso shot, is PID temperature controlled, while a separate steam boiler offers instant and powerful steam on demand. So you can extract your shot at the right temperature, delivering optimal flavor, while simultaneously steaming your milk.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆Overall, this product is a great value for the price! The grinder does a fantastic job of delivering a consistent grind, though I do wish there were more precision settings for finer adjustments. The 58mm portafilter is a big plus, and while it took some time to dial in my espresso shots, I'm really happy with the results now. One of my favorite features is the auto time-on setting—it's great to wake up and find that it's already heated up (takes about 8 minutes). Additionally, the large water reservoir is a big win, reducing the need for constant refills. Definitely satisfied with the purchase!

Like any high-powered machine, this espresso maker takes a while to get to know and to tailor to your tastes. But once you do, it's great.

after a year of mild use, it will no longer work because it trips the circuit. water is clearly leaking somewhere based on steam sounds and steam in the screens and buttons as well as water leaking from the seam of the group head and the water dispenser

I am getting into espresso making at home and wanted a machine that offered a lot of versatility. The Dual Boiler was a perfect middle ground between a fully manual (and very expensive) dual boiler espresso machine and a semi-automatic (or fully automatic) machine. This model is basically a manual espresso machine with dual boilers and automatic control over the temperature, pressure, and shot duration (all customizable). That leaves the grinding, dosing, and puck prep to me, the user which is just want I wanted. The price on the set (Dual Boiler + Grinder) was actually LESS than the cost of the Dual Boiler alone. Could not pass that up! While the grinder is not the best, it's definitely usable until I can afford a better one.

Happy is an understatement! This machine can pull a shot and steam at the same time so you can make a latte so quickly. The steam is instant and dry steam. No thumping noise and pumping out water while it heats up like machines with thermoblock or thermacoil systems. I swear the coffee is tasting better as well! Difficult to get it dialed in but once you do, worth it! I also love that there is an access to fill the water tank from the front of the machine. Buy it!

Love that I am able to brew my coffee and steam my milk at the same time.

The BDB is a top notch machine capable off pulling single origin shots.I have only put single origin medium roast through the grinder and you can hear it struggling, though still produces a fine enough grind for espresso. I don’t think it would be up to the task of a light roast.

I bought this when my 45 year old Olympia Caffarex finally got too old to maintain. I immediately noticed a huge improvement in the flavor and texture of my morning cappuccinos. The upgrade from a 49mm to a full 58mm filter makes a big difference- although my espresso doses went from 14g to 19g, so I’m using more coffee each month. The temperature stability and digital controls help me make much more consistent drinks, and the workflow is easy and efficient. Also my digital scale fits under the portafilter, so I can measure each shot by weight, instead of guessing. I like the grinder better than my old Olympia Moca, but I might eventually get a DF64 or something better. The 8-minute morning warmup time was a big consideration compared to any of the E-61 type machines. I’m very satisfied with this choice!

Having bought two Bambino Pluses in a row that were defective (insufficiently hot water, overheated milk) I gave up and bought one of these, which I should have done in the first place. It's perhaps too early to write a review (I've only had it a week), but so far it works flawlessly. It's a pleasure to use as well, including its fast heat-up time (c. 6 minutes?) - not as fast as the Bambino Plus and one or two other models, but impressive regardless. I can't comment on the grinder's ability to grind for espresso as I already had an espresso grinder, but this seems to work nicely for coarser grinds. I like that, despite having a hopper, it works well with single doses.

**EDIT** SGC has AMAZING customer service. This went down in price literally the day I received it and they responded to my inquiry for a price adjustment without any hassle at all. Thank you guys so much :)Just got this setup today and I'm very impressed with the quality, which is good sign since it cost a very pretty penny. Steaming milk is very easy and the wand has ample power to make perfect microfoam. Still making adjustments for the perfect pull of espresso but overall this thing beats he Starbucks garbage I wasted money on for years by a landslide. I don't live too close to a great coffee shop, so I'm so super excited about having this at home. I hope it lasts as long as I'm hoping it will. The grinder is very easy to use. I cleaned the grinder out already because I ground up quite a few shots to practice. There's a cool YouTube video you can watch to show how to access the lower burr. The grinds come out a little clumpy but I feel like it's a consistent texture at least.
