Brand new to all things brewing, this kit was great! Included absolutely everything I needed except water and sugar. Especially love the conical design so I donโt have to mess with buckets and siphons etc. Canโt wait to make another batch!

Ordered this to give cider making a try. This kit made it very easy. Followed the simple instructions and a couple weeks later enjoying the first batch from the kit. Cleaned everythign up and now fermenting a second batch from scratch and ordered a second coniocal fermenter (not the kit) to be able to do multiple batches. Have had zero issues with the spigot or anything else with it. Stick with the one step and you should have no issues with the plastic.

I really wanted to love this kit, but at the end of the day it didn't work out.Out of the entire kit, the conical fermenter was the best thing. It is very functional and I plan to use it many more times. The included bottle filling valve was really cool, until I had the whole assembly just pop off while I was filling bottles, causing me to loose about a pint on the floor before I got to the shutoff valve! The equipment alone is good, but the cider itself was not.I painstakingly followed the instructions and I am absolutely confident I did not screw up. I made the blueberry cider, which involves blending blueberry and adding it. The bottom of the fermenter is designed so the yeast can settle at the bottom, and you can drain the cider from the valve without picking up spend yeast (clever idea). The problem with the blueberry was that the small chunks/skins also settled with the yeast, resulting in too many deposits at the bottom, defeating the purpose of the design of the bottom of the fermenter. In other words, when draining the cider through the valve a TON of blueberry particles and spend yeast end up going through. Here is the nail in the coffin. Again, I followed the instructions, except at bottling time, I put in half the amount of priming sugar that was called for. I don't care for excessive carbonation, so I put in less sugar to insure it was not too carbonated. Well, after the bottles sat for a week, I went to finally try the cider. The bottles were so carbonated, literally over half the contents of the bottle came jetting out. I can only imagine what would have happened if I put in the full amount of priming sugar. After weeks of waiting, I ended up frustrated, covered in cider, and left with a pretty useless batch. I also have the Red Tart Cherry to make, but at this point I'm not even sure I will bother. I'd rather fail trying to be creative with my own recipe than fail just following instructions.I understand that I am an amateur, but there are clearly some flaws.

We spent an entire morning picking apples, juicing them and pasteurizing the juice and were excited to try our hand at making our own cider. We got the juice in the tank and put it in the garage to start fermenting. Later that night we went in the garage to find that the cheap plastic spigot had broken off and there was apple juice EVERYWHERE in our garage. We had to do some major cleanup late at night because this thing is cheaply made. When we emailed about a refund we got an extremely sarcastic response and needless to say no refund. Do not buy this product.

We gave this as a gift to friends for Christmas. I love that it comes with virtually everything you need (aside from apple juice), including bottles. Our friends are going to start using it next week, so I can update this review once they use it. However it was a great gift to give, looks great, and provides all materials needed to brew hard cider. My husband loved it so much that he wants us to buy one for ourselves now, too!

Gave this as a gift to my dad, and the first batch was finished a few weeks ago. It was easy to set up and the regular recipe made a very dry cider (my parents likened it more to champagne than most commercially available hard ciders). They like it though, and are excited to try tweaking the recipe more.

Fun kit! Got this for my husbands wedding gift. We haven't started it yet but all the pieces were there. Good quality and we loved the fact that the bottles are reusable. Very cool product excited to start brewing! Only gave it a 4 because have haven't brewed in in yet.
