I bought this card new, installed it in a server I was upgrading (or so I thought), from the moment I did, it started locking up, dumping file transfers, doing transfers at 50mbps and suddenly stalling and causing IOPS problems left and right. After a week of trying to tune the system to use the card better, I finally just put a thermometer to it's heatsink... despite being in a HP DL580 that had the fans set on max (so fast you can literally dry your hair from the exhaust air coming out) the card was operating at over 200 degrees F. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I don't know what happened to LSI. They used to make such great products. Now just cheap trash like this.Save yourself the hassle, spend the extra money on a solid performer like HP or DELL RAID and HBA cards and stay away from LSI.

This card has 2 SFF-8088 mini SAS port for connecting external drives.Support RAID 0, 1, 5, 6... I use this card to build RAID 1.It's unused retail pack as described.
