We had terrible odors in the camper after septic pumping. I tried pods, Unique black tank and bowl cleaner but nothing helped. One 2 oz treatment of Brody's took care of the odor.

Pros:• Large, one galloon size. Generally, each treatment is 2 ounces (for a 40-gallon tank). That’s 64 treatments in a gallon. Note, if it is your first use of Brody’s treatment, they recommend a 4-ounce treatment to get started.• Formaldehyde free• Bio enzymatic cleaner• Made in the USAThe only con is if you are searching for an all-natural treatment. This one does have some chemicals. But I have not found an all-natural treatment that works well.To use, first empty your tank. Add 3-4 gallons of water. Then add Brody’s (4 oz. for the first treatment and 2 oz. in all subsequent treatments). Simple to use. We use it weekly after the honey dipper comes through. My thoughts as a “seasoned” seasonal camper (10 plus years’ experience): We have tried multiple treatments for the black tank. Brody’s is one of my favorites. There is NO black tank ODOR in the hot weather, and it seems to clean the tank sensors better (Word to the wise, never fully trust the black tank sensor. They really aren’t accurate once all that toilet paper and excrement are in there). We have had no issues with clogs while using this treatment. Also, one gallon will last you a long time. So yes, I will be getting this treatment again in the future and yes it does keep the black tank smelling fresh (as fresh as it can be). Happy camping!

Brody's RV holding tank treatment enables an easy review to write, because I'm very familiar with a competing brand, Pure Power Blue. Both products are superior to all other treatments on the market that I've tried over a decade of full-time RV experience (I live in my RV). Both of them are blue bio-enzyme liquids, as opposed to tablets or powders, which I do not care for.WHY TREATMENT IS CRITICAL: I an RV, you tend to rely on internal storage tanks to collect black and grey water: black is your toilet waste, and grey is sink and shower/tub waste water. While grey is often left to drain directly if hooked up to sewer, it is a kindness to your neighbors, and sometimes to yourself, to instead use the tank for black water, and draw and then FLUSH with fresh water via the grey system, to prevent unpleasant lingering orders. If you do not use a treatment in your black tank, it is possible that it will collect and congeal in a way which clogs. The treatment prevents this by literally liquifying the solid waste... biochemically, which is to say, the enzymes eat the stuff. In the grey water system, it is good to use once in a while to prevent other little problems which might affect drain oder or clogging issues.SAFETY: both products are safe in your systems; they are not caustic chemicals. Both have the same safety warnings in handling, and you do want to avoid prolonged skin contact, keep it out of your eyes and mouth, with instructions on what to do if you do.FUNCTION: both products are virtually identical except in subtle ways, and both use the same 2oz per tank treatment, based on a typical 40 gallon waste tank, and so would seem identically efficient. Keep reading.SCENT: Blue smells very nice just as it is, while Brody's is just short of being unpleasant, just a bit 'heady,' but then, you only get a whiff or either, when pouring; not a biggie. However, the ingredient differences seem to be tied (and I'm not enough of a chemist to verify) to how they both deter unpleasant oders. Blue is more like air freshener, in that it covers up the oder by having one of its own. Brody's on the other hand, appears to deaden the oder of the source. In any event, it seems to work at least as well, in the tank, perhaps better, a thing a bit hard to judge without two identical systems with he same oder, at the same time.Size/Availability: Both are available in differing sizes. If you live in your unit, you are going to want to save money by bying gallons at a time. If you only use it on trips, but have a family or group with you when you go, get a quart. If you just go by yourself, the pints work well. But always have a spare on hand, in addition to the one you are using, and reorder as soon as you toss an empty. Blue has as subscription program, so you never run out. Brody's does not, but I bet they'd be happy to start one, if you asked.Container: Brody is in a traditional 'bleach' style gallon jug with neck handle. Blue is in a 'gas can' rectangular shape with side handle, which I rate as easier to find places to store in an RV, without wasting space, and easier to pour.Price: Brody is the higher priced spread, at Amazon. I've not seen it at an RV store to compare, but suspect it is similarly higher, about a third more expensive. But Brody does have more ingredients, and I am enough of a chemist to know that in addition to suspected deodorizing, there is one other valuable reason for entertaining the increased price:ADDITIVE: Brody's adds a surficant or two. A surficant in this kind of product makes it harder for a given liquid or solid to adhere to another solid, in this case, your holding tank walls and sensors that tell you when it's time to flush. That is probably worth the extra price, especially if you have frequent clogging of your system. I believe this is why Brody claims "it will clean your sensors." They also say something I promise you to be true: "Nothing ruins a trip like a clogged toilet."

I wanted this Brody’s RV Holding Tank Treatment for family members who will be living in an RV this summer. They’re building a house that will take a while to complete and will be living in their RV. They are a family of five and certainly will make use of their loo. This holding tank treatment will help break down a lot of the waste products, including toilet paper. There are a lot of additives in some toilet papers that need to be broken down. A holding tank can only hold so much before they’ll need to empty it. This treatment will make life quite a bit easier for the family this summer. The price is certainly reasonable at just under $45. Full instructions are on the side of the bottle.

It is supposed to eliminate odors naturally and rid your RV of any bad smells. In testing, a little goes a long way. At 2 fl oz per treatment of 40 gallon tank. That give you about 64 treatments. Pretty standard for most brands. I will say that this does eliminate the unpleasant odor that can creep into your black or grey systems. Great for winterizing as well.I appreciate you taking the time to read this. All in all, I have tried a lot of brands and some tend to cover up the smell rather than eliminate it. This one does do a decent job at removing the tank odor and keeping your RV pleasant smelling. However, I tend to prefer more natural septic treatments. This has a number of chemicals in it that I am not certain what they are or do. But if that is not a concern for you. This is something you will want to look at. Hope this information was helpful.
