Terracotta clay piece works great for keeping brown sugar from clumping. I had one of these previously but lost it. This one works well. There are no directions with it, but they are on the item description. Soak the terracotta piece in water for about 15 minutes, dry it off and place it in your container that you store your brown sugar in (can also be placed in the plastic bag that you bought the brown sugar in - just close it tightly). I like containers that have a ledge or insert area for the terracotta because these work best when not directly in contact with the sugar because it tends to crystalize the sugar that it comes into contact with.

This works, but there are absolutely no instructions included anywhere. I had to look at the listing for the instructions, and even those are rather lacking.
