My son recently switched to playing catcher, and we've been searching for the perfect catching mitt for his small youth hands. We've visited many stores and tried on various brands, including used and new ones. Just when we were about to give up, we found this Buckler catching mitt. To our surprise, it exceeded our expectations in terms of the quality of leather used, internal comfort, and perfect sizing for small youth hands and fingers, all at an amazing price. I'm still shocked when he uses it and he smiles wearing it because of how comfortable it is. It has a great shape, and it's like a fish bowl, it swallows the ball. It's not a cheap youth mitt that has a shallow pocket. It took a few weeks to break in. Sure, it's almost game-ready, but we took our time getting a nice, good box break-in with double hinges. We did use some leather balm after we used some hot water during a simple break-in process. Mostly, we simply played catch and went to the batting cages and turned up the pitching machine and he sat catching for an hour a few times a week. It was a success. It's so nice. So clean. And the loud smack/pop sound it makes when he catches is startlingly loud. It's awesome, and we're very relieved and happy to have found this Buckler catching mitt that's of this quality, price, fit and design.

Buckler Gloves will hands down out perform top brands in price and performance. One of my 9U players needed a new firstbase mitt three weeks into the season....
