I love this little windbreak. I am using it inside of a cabin to try and keep any kind of cooking splatter contained to this area. It's sturdy.I have not used it outside yet to see if it keeps the wind from messing with the flame. But I will and I will update this review when I do.

Like most who have backwoods camped a bit, I long ago learned to trim tack weight however it's both reasonable and safe. Windscreens haven't been part of my tack for more than 40 years. Paper thin, ultralight, easily carried in a pack or duffel 'windscreens' will all fail you when most needed. Never met one that didn't.Now RV, Trailer or Car/Truck Camping is different. Most campgrounds and RV parks are fairly exposed to the wind and you will find yourself alternately protected and exposed to that wind dependent on your site assignment. So when you're exposed you need the best protection possible. I've tried at least a dozen 'solutions' over the years and inevitably returned to using my homemade plywood fold up which is serviceable, but cumbersome, nearly impossible to keep clean and probably dangerous. This unit, after using it nearly daily for the past 2½ months, has turned out to be a keeper. In light to moderate wind it can be used without installing the shelf without fear of its collapsing. In stronger winds I install the shelf, secure it's end tabs by putting some old chopsticks through the holes and turning it's back to the tempest. Easy peasy. And when all's picked and packed I have a four wheeled horse to carry it. Highly recommended.

This came in a bag, and was easy & intuitive to set up. It is made well, strong metal, and was effective at both blocking out medium level winds and holding spices on its ledge while cooking during an overnight camping trip. Its heavy so it's not for ultra-light campers, but for car camping or a short walk, its super useful during windy nights.

The wind could not blow it down. Very well made. I just did not use the optional shelf because it came close to the cooking pan.
