The CAMWAY Wire Rope Crimper and Cutter impressed me right out of the box. Crimping 1/16-inch to 1/8-inch ferrules was easier than I expected, and every crimp felt solid and professional—no slipping or second-guessing. The cutter sliced through wire rope so cleanly, it left me wondering why I’d struggled with frayed ends in the past. The 100 included ferrules were a nice touch, saving me a trip to the store, and the whole tool felt sturdy and well-built. It made my cable projects smoother, faster, and way more satisfying. If you want clean cuts and a secure grip, this tool delivers exactly that!

An instruction sheet would have been appreciated. A sheet that advised the user to a link for an online video, or verbiage to explain some tips for situations where a third hand is needed. For example, after threading compression crimp and hand tightening the cable one can use vise grip plyers to hold the cable position while the first aluminum piece is then pushed against the cable around the SS eyelet. It can be retained with a second grip so the crimp tool can be operated with two hands. Thus made, minimum thread is needed to tighten the turnbuckle and finished product looks professional. Cable cutter did a good job because the cable was easily threaded through the aluminum sleeve prior to crimping.

Built in wire cutter sucks; definitely get a high-tensile wire cutter to go with this. The crimper though, works excellent! Some larger crimps can be difficult. Unless you're a body builder, you'll probably have to pull out the ol' "sit on the handle" trick to fully crush a larger sleeve. Still, short of a (much more expensive) air or hydraulic crimp, this is pretty hard to beat

I bought this tool with tiny clamps and thimbles, so I completely expected to ruin them when I decided to use them to cut 3/16” cable. That's 3/16", not including the plastic wrap. That's pretty big wire. The biggest sold at Lowe's. It cut right through it not once, but 4 separate times, and the blade is still in good enough condition to cut tiny wire.

Using supplied ferrules with 3mm 7x7 galvanised catenary wire I found that hole 3 did not give a sufficient crimp in my case. After a bit of experimenting I found hole "2" with the variable adjusters set to position "4" gave consistent crimps. Tensile testing showed that the wire I was using failed before the crimps in this scenario whereas crimps formed using hole "3" resulted in pull out at low load. Obviously all this is very specific to my particular tool, wire etc - so do not use this as basis for anything other than perhaps useful info when considering purchasing. Cutter works fine on the wire I'm using. Happy with the tool once adjusted. Easy to use.
