Made to remove or adjust the EPS steering thrust piece on your steering rack. This hand made tool is preferred
to a standard pin spanner as the specific torque can be easily applied accurately (typically 55 - 70 Nm)
Suitable for DIY car repair use. Hex head is 24mm A/F.
High tensile hex head, aluminium alloy body with steel driving pins to provide a smooth contact surface,to prevent cutting into the aluminium thrust piece retaining cap.

I had the knock but also tracking issues at highway speeds as well as some free play. Install was easy, and it literally feels like a new vehicle now. Money well spent. Don't buy the tool for the cap, just use a 16mm 12pt socket for oem cap.

I did this install today and it came out great!First thing I recommend, is to get a paint pen and mark the original cap and the position it is in.Second is to remember how the old bushing came out, that way you put new one in same orientation ( or you may struggle to fit it in a bit) lube the new thrust bushing very well. Especially in the valley.Lastly i used the original cap and center rubber plug. Just replaced the bushing and spring. I watched a youtube video and the guy struggled with the new provided cap.Good luck and dont forget to use jack stands if you are using a jack!

The kit worked perfectly and the clac my steering had went away. I'm very happy that indeed the weared bushing was at fault. I was worried that the steering could end up too heavy, because I'd heard that some people had that problem after installation. But in my case this was not an issue an the the kit was great, so I am very pleased.

The main component, the replacement bushing, came defective with one of the plastic pads dismounted. Would be awful to have that piece of plastic floating around in your steering rack if I were to install it, likely would cause failure to the rack.Also, all of the remaining components came scratched as if they were used and not new as advertised. The spring is silver not blue as pictures depict.So glad I didn't install this kit, would have resulted in a world of headache and additional expenses.Should have known too good to be true for the price, Returning and buying from FCP Euro.

The steering rack thrust piece did not fit. Old part was easy to remove but the new one did not fit. We tried pushing it softly but we were not able to sit it in place even tough we applied the BMW approved FB-1 grease. In the end we decided to remove de new part and place back the old one and not risk damaging the electric steering rack. Will buy the OEM part at a dealership.
