Your basic step. This is the 2nd one I have purchased for my truck. 1st one I purchased stated that there were two in the box. Well, that was not the case, hence my 2nd purchase.

There is an opposing metal bar supplied with the step that acts like a giant washer on the upper side of the passenger compartment to stabilize the step. Instructions indicate you are to remove the plastic floor threshold strip and install it in the cavity it covers, avoiding any wiring (I found wires only on the driver's side). But the metal bar won't fit into the cavity and yet align with holes in the step from underneath. I ended up installing the metal bar in front of the plastic floor threshold. It doesn't look as nice as if it were concealed, but the step is sturdy enough and gets the job done. I installed two extra bolts and flat washers in the threshold cavity to give extra strength in securing the step. The main thing is it works.
