Perfect dish for keeping something warm and presentable during your gatherings. I have hand washed only and did not place this in the dishwasher. Directions say to not place this in oven while cooking so I have not done that either. Looks great and works well.

I would only recommend that you buy this if you only intend on using it for display purposes only. It is not meant to go in the oven or the microwave for cooking purposes. Especially with the lid. The glass lid has a decorative crystal on top that is not heat safe and the glass lid has no protection around the edging, it is very delicate. I love the gold stand that it sits in. It is made very well and is very sturdy. It has a little tea light holder at the bottom for a tea light. It is too small to try and stick a fuel burner can down there so it’s really not a true chafing dish. I would heat food up first and then pour it inthe dish for best results. I doubt a tea light is really going to keep the food warm if I’m being honest but it “looks” nice. The white marble paired with the gold is stunning. I would recommend it.

Yes, I should have paid more attention to the measurements because they are displayed in the description. However, this is small!! The picture makes it appear larger. Again, my fault I did not take the measurements into account being that I was rushing at the last minute for Thanksgiving. I needed this for the compote/chutney to keep it warm & possibly to use for gravy, au ju, etc in the future. But the size of this dish is on the lines of a cup of to go soup from Panera Bread. So if you do not want to serve more than one person- (sauces, gravy, compote, chutney, etc.) this is the right size. It is not sizable for more than two! :( It is esthetically nice! I love the colors because gold is my go to color (elegance). I do not plan on submerging the holder (gold frame) into water as I do not want it to tarnish/dull. It seems sturdy. All in all this is a piece that would be suitable for an intimate dinner/brunch where you are not using it to serve more than two or else you will be refilling it often. Unfortunately, I do not think it was pricey for the size.
