Its extensive padding includes full shoulder coverage and adjustable pectoral pads. The pads are coated with a contour-molded 3mm polyethylene armor exterior to take the edge off of impacts. Ordered looks new on the last xlg for my son who Umpires a lot and will soon Umpire TOC games.He received and couldn't believe how it really does look like an unused new chest guard.He weighs around 280/290, is 6'3 and the xlg is exactly what was needed.Once TOC starts and he gets some use on it. I will update the review. But right now, Kuddos to this seller as he is still in shock at the condition seen, it just doesn't look like it was ever worn.

This Champro chest protector is as strong as Wilson's West Vest chest protector, but has the additional length to protect your rib cage. I like the metal T-hooks better than the plastic clips many chest protectors have now because the T-hooks are easily replaceable if they bend or break, unlike plastic clips that are sewn onto the chest protector. It offers great collarbone protection. I have taken a few 80 mph hits with this chest protector and I was ready to go for the next pitch.Couple of recommendations: First, I wish they had a strap or something on the bottom soft corners of the chest protector to help keep the harness strap that goes around your side in place, just like the Wilson West Vest Gold V1. Second, I would recommend that you upgrade the harness to something like the UMPLIFE Flex Umpire Chest Protector Harness. Upgrading the harness made a world of difference in comfortability and keeping the chest protector in place.

Needs electric straps for the shoulder pads. They tend to droop down exposing the tip of the shoulder.

The 13' was too tight around the neck. The 14' was a better fit and adjusted easier.

The product is too bulky and difficult to get a shirt or coat over without it getting caught. I will be returning for a different model.

The XL chest protector is 2/3 inches short of navel area on myself 5’9” 200 lbs, so I would recommend a foam extension if you want that lower stomach protected, the back harness you need to adjust to your personal preference and takes a few minutes but it supports well once customized, there are no under the shoulder straps which would have been nice to have, it is light in weight and should offer ample protection , but I have not had live game action with it yet
