HP Labtop under a rasied and enclosed monitor stand. No room for video cable from left side of labtop. Allowed the VGA port to be directed to the back of the monitor stand. No problem connecting the video cable with this adapter.

This adapter does what I needed. My laptop has its VGA female socket on the side, so a cord plugged directly into the socket swept out a big radius on my desk that was therefore unavailable for use. With this adapter, the cord goes straight back, freeing that desk space. My laptop is relatively thin - the bottom of the socket is about 3/8" above the desk surface, so it's important that the adapter have no bulge on its underside. This adapter has none, so there's even room for my mousepad to fit under it. The adapter does have thumbscrews, which are nice. My laptop, regrettably, has no holes to receive the screws. But, good news, the plug on the adapter is well-fitted to the socket dimensions, and deep enough that it stays firmly in place without the need for the screws to hold it.

The adapters work, but the picture quality is bad on both of them. Some sort of shadowing/aliasing that I can't adjust out out on any settings. I don't know if there is some interference within the adapter, but I won't be using these.

When I finally got the product it was just like I was hoping for. Two connectors one with the cable going on direction and one with the cable going the other.I had ordered a cheaper connectors from another vendor ( had carefully matched the picture to my needs) but when it arrived the cable was going the wrong direction.Thanks
