Since I'm still learning, I am honestly not sure if this truly is a five star item. From an esthetics standpoint, the wheel is an easy 5 stars. It looks and feels like a quality product... although the plastic frame that rotates on the wheel doesn't exactly ooze a feeling of the utmost quality. I am hoping as I learn, this item will become more and more handy.PROS: Feels and looks like a quality product.CONS: Unsure yet but may be too much theory for a newbie?...ok and one more minor con... the pouch. I'm not sure about others, but for me, it's just one more thing in the package that I just don't feel as though I needed. For now, though, if you looking for circle of 5ths wheel, this might be just the ticket.

I'm not well versed in composing music. I started learning piano about a year ago. When you start thinking about producing music, this is a terrific reference to keep on your desk. It's super sturdy being metal, so a couple of drops isn't going to affect it. It's dual-sided with the treble clef and bass clef notation on the back. If you're a DJ, mixing in key will make your transitions sound smooth like butter! If you're looking for something like this, you know what this type of device brings, so for the price, this is a great option. My only gripe is that the stand doesn't keep the ring upright and locked into place. I think it's made to be pulled out and handled, that's why the base has just a large slot and not something to grab hold of it and lock it in place. The other accessories are nice to have. If the company gave you a better base to lock in the ring, maybe even a magnet in the base, I would give it the full 5 stars.

As a bass player, I need to frequently figure out song structures or whatever it is the guitar players in my band are coming up with. I can stick with the key of a song and that works, but often I also want to use arpeggios and I am not always sure about the proper chord progressions, or I try to fudge things but it's just not quite right. For some reason, using the Internet to look up charts is not cutting it for me. I have trouble reading through it, so when I saw this Circle of Fifth item, I knew this is what I needed. It has already helped me out on a couple songs. Visually, it just stands out to me and I find it much easier to understand or reverse engineer the structure of a song. There are some exceptions, of course, but for the vast majority of songs, this will work just fine. This wheel is made well and it feels strong and sturdy. It comes included with charts and a chord booklet, which is nice but I really just only use the wheel. This is not limited to bass or guitar players, this is useful for any instrument.

For any musician, knowing the circle of fifths can be of immense help in writing and transcribing music. This guy -- about the size of a CD -- has the circle of fifths printed on it with a movable guide to line up the key and highlight the appropriate chords. The disc is made of heavy, solid aluminum. A wooden stand holds it up so you can have a hand full of guitar and still see the disc. The back side has major chord names and the notes contained in that chord on a staff. The wooden stand also has 3 slots to hold some spare guitar picks. The picks that come with it are light, medium and heavy. The poster is a plasticized 8.5"x11" page showing chord names and guitar fingerings. Not huge, but just the right size to tuck into a book or file folder. Or 3-hole punch it and put it in a binder. There also a booklet -- again, about the size of a CD booklet. It has some good info with chords and fingerings for each key, and also chord variations using a specific chord "shape" or finger pattern. E.G. It shows the D-chord shape, and how to play E, F, G, etc. using the same finger pattern. At the end, there is a very brief music theory section on key signatures etc.For each page showing a major key, they show a circle, where the various chords fall on the scale, how many steps between, and the guitar fingering. The print on this one bit of the page is so small, I couldn't even make it out by taking a photo with my phone and zooming in! Once you have any grounding at all in scale theory, this information is probably unnecessary anyway, but a waste of good information that is unreadable. Again - that is just the circle at the bottom corner of the pages.I have a book with much of this info, but it's always a bit of fumbling to keep it open where I want it. This props up thecircle right in front of you so you can easily refer to it as you play. The whole thing comes with a soft, velvety pouch to store it away.

A nice product for students learning music for the first time, but it has some drawbacks. The instruction card that came with the product is written in broken english that can be difficult to understand. It really could have used some editing prior to printing up. The wheel itself is pretty nice, but a bit hard to read at quick glance. some of the lettering is so small that it should really have been dropped entirely or enlarged to read easier. The little stand that is included is very flimsy and doesn't really work at all. You'll mostly want to use this by just picking it up and turning it in your hands; the stand is pointless. Overall it's a useful tool but I wish they had taken the time to really make it excellent instead of just ok.

This is a great reference tool for learning or somg writing. It's also a nice display piece and it's heavy duty and durable. Simple to set up and comes with a little stand to hold it so it's easy to see. It's a little small but it's not too hard to read, and the price is good.

Very intriguing and helpful tool for mastering guitar chords; with some music theory.-Has a chart listing all the Guitar chords.-Has a wheel like disk that groups chords together in scales on one side; shows the placement of the notes on the music staves on the back.-A stand to display the wheel.-3 Guitar picks; Soft, medium and stiff flex.-Carrying case.-A Chord book.-Instruction sheet; for using the wheel. This is a music theory tool that can help with transposing musical chords on the fly. It has helpful charts for learning guitar chords fingerings. The booklet shows seven Chords in each Major scale for the first half of the book and then (what they call "derivations of chord fingerings") an assortment of chord fingering deviations in the last half of the booklet. While you may not be at a level of music theory to fully understand this tool, there are still many helpful aspects to this product that can serve you well for basic learning. I give this product a 4/5 for it's usefulness. I feel as though a better guide with more fluent English should have been provided. There's only one small piece of information pertaining to Minor scales at the back of the book with no explanations; just a chart.Note: While the literature provided is in English, it is clearly written by non fluent English use of words and terms. A little patience may be needed to make sure you're understanding what is being said.

Well I've gotta give the folks that made this a kudos. What a nice lookin piece. Won't be hiding this in a cramped drawer full a' music knick-knacks. Looks great w/ it's little stand, which holds 3 of your favorite guitar picks,(3 included with it). Only thing I might say is they maybe could'a incorporated a weight into the "front", so the Circle leans back and not forward taking away from the aesthetic, but.. if you set it carefully it'll sorta stand up straight. But.. if you dont care to see Picks hiding behind it just turn it around, or drill out a place to glue a weight in the bottom. The laser engraving looks really good considering how small it is..Haven't found any notation mistakes but, then again, that's why I got it. To relearn the Circle of 5ths(Cycle of 4ths backwards!) in the 1st place.Plus it helps you figure out other corresponding chords of whatever scale, and then some. They even included a pretty decent little chord book, wall chart, and bag to store the Wheel/Stand when not on display.Honestly.. I think they went the extra mile in trying to help people learn a little Music Theory..and not just crank out some cheap gimmick.Way to go, guys. Gonna have to give this 2 thumbs up..!

This is a review of the SWKHDKX Circle of Fifths Wheel Guitar Accessories with Melody Chord Chart Music Theory Book, Progression Wheel for Musical Learning (Dark blue).Even though I can work the musical intervals out myself, I have been wanting a Circle of Fifths Wheel for several years, to help me speed-up my musical learning and memorisation. The Circle of Fifths Wheel is very easy to read and use, and the Wheel comes with some several accessories which will be very useful for someone playing guitar who is starting to learn - or wants help with learning - music theory. Some of the accessories included with the SWKHDKX Wheel take the Wheel into a territory that exceeds my expectations.I think the Wheel is good value for money, and I would recommend it as a gift for someone learning to play the guitar.Overall, the SWKHDKX Circle of Fifths Wheel is a highly effective, helpful and useful tool for me.Highly recommended.YOU SHOULD KNOWDIMENSIONS AND CONSTRUCTIONThe SWKHDKX Circle of Fifths Wheel is exactly the same size as a CD - 12 cm in diameter.PROS - WHAT I LIKE1. This SWKHDKX Circle of Fifths Wheel is very easy to read and use2. The Circle of Fifths Wheel is compact, but is still a convenient size3. The Wheel is very well made (the construction is highly durable, being made of a thick, heavy plastic)4. I really like that the Treble Clef and Bass Clef notation are shown on the reverse side of the wheel, because I do not know the bass clef that well5. In addition to the Circle of Fifths Wheel, this SWKHDKX package contains the following accessories:(a) ‘Chord Booklet’ (titled ‘Circle of fifths & Guitar chords’), which includes several sets of very useful information, including a ‘Building Chords’ list of the intervals in major and minor chords, clear photos and diagrams of 7 chords in the 7 keys from C - B(b) Guitar ‘Chord Poster’(c ) Guitar Picks - 3 (of different thicknesses - soft, medium, and hard)(d) Flannel bag(e) Wooden Stand with slots to hold the Wheel upright, and to hold guitar picks6. While I do not need these accessories, the Guitar ‘Chord Poster’ and ‘Chord Booklet’ would have been very useful for me when I was starting to learn guitar/music theory, and these accessories increase the value of this productCONS - WHAT I DO NOT LIKE1. The plastic ‘framing’ device on the Wheel, while effective at visually isolating the musical keys and notes being identified and looked at, is a bit clumsy because it sticks up 2 mm from the surface of the Wheel on each side of the Wheel - this could have been flatter

I have been performing music since I was 6 years old. I was classically trained in piano and voice and have performed across a number of venues. Nearly all of my education and instruction was aimed at technique and the development of musical skills. There was only a little music theory until more recent years (we’ll say I’m over 65 and leave it at that).I saw this little device and right away decided I needed to have one. Although the emphasis with this device is on guitar performance and composition, it can apply to any instrument or voice. No lectures on music theory. Just this: if you want a deeper understanding of music and HOW it works and is constructed, this device and the accompanying literature and chord charts can be of great help. It can help you learn how chords, keys, and chord progressions fit together to make music that has shape and continuity. Some of it is the science of music and the building blocks of composition. The wheel is NOT the typical chart known as the Circle of Fifths but it is derived from that chart. I suggest you go online and view the chart of the Circle of Fifths and read some of the descriptions and explanations that come with the chart. It will bring more meaning and understanding about the use of this wheel. In a nutshell, this device can help you begin to learn the fundamentals of how music is tied together and how every musical key moves through changes (progressions) that flow naturally and form the language of all music. I think this is a great little tool, cleverly designed and fairly easy to follow. It will give anyone a better grasp of what needs to be known to comprehend music and even to compose your own. I could have used such a tool many years ago and already find it helpful in my own quest to do jazz improv rather late in the game.I recommend it!Be in the music. Be of the music. BE THE MUSIC!And for goodness sakes HAVE FUN!

wowzers!im impressed.this makes things so much easier for a beginner.this quality is exceptional. all the text is engraved ! smrt ! 🙃😉honestly learning guitar chords is almost as difficult as it is to learn german, oh ki i'mmmm being dramatic. but am i really? its hard stuff. and they both have their own slangs and short cuts that only experts would know.i tried using charts off the internet back in 2006 and they were difficult. i knew some notes use different fingers but make the same sound. they showed you alternative fingerings {bahaja} on the sheet paper. oh ya. like the one with this disk. they did supply a paper chart and it’s almost the exact same one i was given off a scanner back in 2006. the one i have is fuzzy and blurry. it was too difficult to use then and it sure is too now. i dont have 8 arms to scroll and pin point or any of that. that is why this fifths wheel is so exceptional to paper.i swear the one i have has more chords on there than this paper copy. mine did not have the lower portion labeled ‘guitar chords’ the whole page was full and the same sized text used.back then looking online on one of the sites... difficult.and you has to scroll!!! you ! yes you ! there wasnt a setting to let it run on it own. you had to do it yourself ! it was near unless you used your toes...talk about impossible! ha!the kids these days don’t know good they got it.this spinning music note disk was a brilliant find!i love the blue colour, and the black bracket has something happening with the friction so it isnt loose and spin around on you.the stand they included is adorable because it looks like an emoji.i like this fifths disk even more because it reminds me of the mc donalds maths disk we had growing up. yeh. mc Donalds gave out actual education toys. cray huh? i think about that thing a lot lot.this product just keeps giving and giving ! they also included a book with photos of the hand and fingers! on the guitar neck. wow. they really those of everything.i have a tuner already that clips onto your guitar so you get the true note instead of the one that are with a stand. its pretty sweet. i think its called shark.
