The item is noticeably larger than a standard size of 10.5. I don’t see why I should have to cover the return shipping costs—that’s unfair and feels like a rip-off.

I had a pair of Clarks chukka boots of a slightly different style (they were shiny leather), but they were extremely light and comfortable so when it came time to replace them, I looked for the exact same boots. Unfortunately it seems like they don't make them anymore, so I took a chance on these since they're from the same brand.I was surprised when I got them at how much bigger they were for being the same size (12). Comparing them directly, these boots are about a full inch longer externally and about half an inch wider. They still fit fine but they do feel roomy. Some people might like that, and I would definitely call them quite comfortable even for long periods. The cushioning is really good and they required no break-in. But they just feel a little like clown shoes. I don't feel like they're too big inside but I am always aware of how big they look and feel on the outside. It's harder to maneuver around the pedals in my car, for example.They also scuff very easily; they are sort of a suede-ish material (I doubt it's real) and every time I go out, I seem to come back in with another scratch or two (often from the pedals in my car!). The upside of the material they're made from is that you can often just rub it a bit and the scratches just disappear. But not always, and I have quite a few permanent marks now after only a couple months of use.I don't think they're bad boots for the price, but I also don't think I'd buy them again. I think some people might like them better than I do, though. They're just not exactly what I was looking for in a chukka boot.

I ordered a 10 wide originally and they were so big they looked and felt like clown shoes. I down sized to 9 1/2 Wide which I have always worn when available but still a little too big. I wish I would’ve tried regular width but I put my spenco insoles in and was satisfied how they fit so I kept them. Not my favorite but I like them

Nice snug fit, but sore leg from back of boot rubbing on my leg. I hope this gets better with time.
