At first I hesitated at the price for 6 thin little sewing needles but thought if they are half as good as they claim then it would be worth a try. These are AMAZING! The literally glide through fabric with minimal force, even multiple thicknesses! I'm a total convert to these sewing needles. They are very fine with a small hole for the thread so a needle threader will help but they are worth every single cent! Once you've used them once, you'll never go back to using a 'standard' hand sewing needle again.

I'm in the beginning phases of learning how to make appliques, so I ordered a pack of Clover Black Gold Applique No.9 Needles a while back, because they are supposed to be some of the better needles for applique making. So, when I ordered the second pack of the same rand and type of needles to have as a backup, I was very unhappy to see that I was sent a pack of No. 9 Quilting Needles instead of a pack of No. 9 Applique Needles. So, I immediately started the return process. That was about two weeks ago. But last night when looking through my beading needles to find one small enough to use on some very small, drilled seed beads, I took a closer look at the No.9 Quilting Needles and saw that although they are much shorter than the Applique Needles, they are much thinner than any of my beading needles. So, I thought, 'Why not see if these Quilting Needles will work as beading needles.' and low and behold, they are the BEST beading needles I have ever worked with! So, I am not going to be returning these little guys after all. I highly recommend these Clover Black Gold No.9 Quilting Needles for beading. You are going to find that although the needles are on the shorter side, it's the slender, sturdy sharpness of the needle which make them very easy to work with for beading projects.

I love these needles. I do a lot of English Paper piecing. I find them easy to thread, they work well with lots of different fabrics. Definitely worth a try

Love these needles for general sewing. They stay super sharp for a very long time, do not bend, and thread easily. A frequent repurchase.

Needle as been milled very well and the taper is great for applique work as the length is short enough to have good control, but not so long as to easily bend. The color gives the advantage to be seen against light or dark fabrics and to navigate the edge of an applique patch better for practically inconspicuous stitches.

I actually received the wrong needles. I ordered the appliqué needles but received ‘quilting’ needles witch are short for appliqué. I will keep them but I still need the others. Clover black/gold needles are nice, slip through fabric and are very sharp.

This glide through my fabric like butter, thin enough to not leave a huge hole but strong enough to not bend. I have several brands of needles that I use for various types of sewing, but it I could only have one needle these would be the ones.

I purchased these needles because they are made by Clover. I was so impressed with the way the needle feels in my hand and how it glides through even dense quilting fabric. I do needle turn most of the time. These are actually strong enough to push and turn under fabric applique. They are sharp, very sharp. I am using a size 9 but would like to try them in other sizes. I use silk and rayon threads for my applique' the needle threads easily but the eye is small. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I searched extensively for the best sewing needles and these Clover needles are what I came up with.I use them primarily for re-attaching buttons to pants and shirts. They are excellent. Period.Made in Japan and it shows (superior quality). They slide through material easily and are a pleasure to use.Combine them with the Clover Desk Needle Threader (another fabulous Japanese product) and Gutermann thread (a German product) and you have TOP-NOTCH sewing resources at your service.I got SO sick of the incredibly cheap-o and insulting so-called sewing kits available at mass marketers...I wanted to throw-up. They are so bad that they make people hate sewing.Do as I've done and you'll see how good sewing can be. And oh yeah, I'm a businessman. Yep, that's right. Guys can sew, especially when they have the proper tools.
