Minimotors USA is now utilizing these new plugs on all of the dualtron scooters, and these are referred to as the “insulated plugs”.i purchased these for the purpose of making my own charge plug from the roger charger, to the batteries dual insulated plug, on the dualtron storm limited. i have charged the battery at 25 amps with two of these plugs, meaning approximately 12.5amps through each plug. the plugs remained ambient temperature without any indication of heating through noticeable resistance. meaning, there was no noticeable resistance in the form of heat, present, while charging at 25 amps for 1.5 hours. the voltage was 95volts at 2375 watts through two plugs (shared load).i would buy these again.if the price increases, i will research for a lower price before making a decision. i have noticed at times, items will start low priced, and then increase price once quality reputation has been established.good price is a significant factor in my decision making, for products i purchase.thus far, i am happy with this product. i have been charging (utilizing 12 awg wire) with great success.

This plug was used to run the 8 wires from a PWM to a more accessible and smaller switch box for a kayak trolling motor. The plug is very well made with an O-ring that seals the connection of the male and female ends. Soldering the connections were fairly easy. Anything larger than 18 awg wire would not work with this plug as the terminals would be too small for the wire to fit in. The 18 awg fitment was pretty tight but did work. The only thing I had an issue with was clearly reading the numbers next to the terminals (terminals are numbered on both male and female ends). 3 looked like an 8 and 5 looked like a 6. Not a major issue as this was resolved with a magnifying lens. All in all, It has worked perfectly and I will be buying more plugs like this, in various pin counts, for future projects. I highly recommend this product.

This plug and socket has a fatal flaw. The nut used to hold the socket in place to a panel of junction box is cheap and comes apart when I attempt to remove the pin plug. This is annoying and represents cheap execution of a good idea. I attempted to mount the socket in a project box that was about 3/16" thick and the socket kept pulling out. I purchased two and they both have the same problem. I suggest purchasing the type where the socket base is secured with four screws versus one nut on the back.

I bought this to install in a watertight box for my fish finder battery and it worked out great. Solid click connection and easy to install watertight seal. Very happy.
