This set of lights has a storybook multicolor twinkle mode that's really nice and worth the price all by itself. The other multicolor modes are variations of chase mode and strobe. You can dim and set the speed slower or faster. The single colors seem to focus on variations of blues and pinks (aqua, light pink, lavender) that are a bit harder to find on standard string lights. There don't seem to be any two color modes or red/white/blue Independence Day. That said, the orange will suffice for fall/Halloween, it's a very nice, warm orange. The length is short, it barely covered my 4 foot slim tree. But it's plenty for small projects or a wreath. It has large bead LEDs that focus and brighten the light without causing that laser beam effect. Still the green/blue are the most powerful in photographs, so you might want to dim that down if you don't want big blobs of blue and green in your pictures. The fading / breathing effects happen without any flickering or stuttering.

I love the lights and different modes but the battery life is awful. Only works for 3+ days with battery even on timer mode. Will then turn on for 5 minutes and then shut off again. Batteries are in correctly and terminals are clean. Am VERY disappointed. Supposed to work with battery or usb. I have tried everything with no resolution. I didn't plan on having lights that go thru batteries this quickly and I got battery operated ones cuz there are no close outlets. I have several other types of these battery powered lights that are on for lengthier periods of time and have no issues having to change batteries frequently. Is this how they work or are they defective?

So, these seem to work fine if you are running them from batteries. However the USB functionality doesn't seem to work. If you try to power them just from the USB they never come on. If you put batteries in and plug into USB, turn on and then take the batteries out they work and you can control them w/ the remote. However, if you turn the lights off you can't turn them back on w/ the remote if powered just by the USB. Very disappointing.

These lights are so cool. I love the fact that they can be one solid color or mixed colors. I like the fact that they can be bright or not as bright.

There are so many color combinations and really bright. Remote works great selecting the options. Bought one to try and then bought another set after using first set.

Wire is band like- about 4 wires side by side held together great ( not like the single little fairy lights). I had asked a question if they could be cut down to size some because I got a length too long for a project- since it was a 2 pack I tested it with one. Yes. You can cut the wire to the length you need, whatever you cut off will obviously no longer work. I cut at a little past the end of the light for the length I wanted to keep. Brightness was great. I haven’t tested the remote yet but I haven’t had any issues with previous products and remotes. Would definitely buy again!

I used these lights to make one of those bubbling cauldrons for Halloween and they worked great! My only complaint is the lights came with zero instructions and a very confusing remote that makes no sense at all. Again, this was just for a craft project and I went ahead and used them anyway. I had hoped you could make just one color appear when the lights pulsate, but it circles through all of the colors instead. There are no directions for how to use the remote so I may never figure out if that is possible or not. The battery pack is nice and you can also plug the USB into a powerbank. NOTE: if you plan to do that latter, you'll need a USB power bank that has an extension cord attached. The cord is very short.
