Overall construction of the actual cover seems pretty good. The gaskets and screws that came with it are junk. It did not come with the timing tab like shown in the picture, and the one I had would not fit this cover .... Like others have stated.

Let me start by saying that this product will work for a small block Chevy. Though the product I received was not polished aluminum, it was cast steel that was chromed, you can even see the casting mark on the interior. I added photos showing an actual piece of polished aluminum next to the timing cover. I also did not receive the bolt-on timing needle marker that was shown to come with the product.Overall I would not be upset with the product if it was labeled as a chromed steel timing cover and priced at the appropriate price of around $25. What I ordered was a polished aluminum timing cover priced at $50, and that’s not what I received..This pushed my engine build back by 2 weeks with shipping times where I’m located. I urge anyone trying to save a few bucks by ordering on Amazon, just get the part from Summit or another reputable dealer that you truly know what you are getting is what was advertised.

Will hold up to any gear drive or retro roller cam…. One caveat. The thick casting and rounding will prevent installation of many if not most timing tabs. Take it to the store to match or just plan on creative fabrication or welding nice quality hardware included
