Take the old cable housing measure against the new housing to see if length adjustments are needed. After ensuring the correct length attach the gear cable housing to your frame.

Secure the gear cable tightly with an Allen key on the derailleur. Adjust the gear cable tightening or loosening based upon feedback from shifting the gear. Once the gears are set up perfectly attach the gear nipple and pinch with pliers. This prevents the gear cable from fraying at the end. Replicate again for your front or rear derailleur.

The OEM cable on my bike was frayed and the plastic tube was cracked. This replacement was exactly what I needed. I compared it to the length of the original and cut the new one to match. I ended up taking about 6 inches off the length. After installing the new cable, and adjusting the derailleur, my bike shifts like new again. There are some great videos on YouTube for adjusting the derailleur if you are replacing your cable and or derailleur.Great description, pictures, price, and fast shipping.

I just started working on our bikes myself, and replacing a frayed shifter cable with this kit is the most technical thing I have done so far. With the help of a video I found online, multiple tools, and this set, I was able to finish the job! It had every single piece I needed, even some I didn’t know I needed until I got started.Here are the required tools, if you’re still deciding if it’s worth it to DIY: metric Allen wrenches, wire cutters, pliers, small Phillips head screwdriver, zip ties. Pro tip: take tons of close-up pictures of every part before you start!

The set came with a nice amount of housing ends and cable organizers. The cable housing was a little short, though. After routing my dropper post, there wasn't enough housing for a second cable. If you're replacing 2 cables at once, you'll probably need more housing. Everything works, and it was cheap, so no complaints there.
