55 pounds magnetic strength is a balance that, the lights will not fall down in driving and not very hard to be removed by an adult. To avoid surface scratches DO NOT remove protective label.
Installation
1.Set the lights on the back of the vehicle being towed, keep the red side of each light faces backwards
2.Set the light which corresponds to the green wire on the right side. Set the light which is attached to the yellow wire on the left side
3.The Towing lights are now ready to be activated as you use the brake, turn signals and running signals of the towing vehicle

I used these on my boat trailer and they worked perfectly. Easy to put on and take off. I am storing them in my trunk and don’t have to worry about rodents chewing the wires or the lights getting immersed in water. I just take them off to launch and put them back on when I take the boat out of the water. I’m glad I bought them.

One of my lights fell off on a bumpy road. The light still worked but I lost the magnet. I asked if I could purchase another magnet and they sent me entire new light set even after the return period expired. That was unexpected and greatly appreciated. The lights work great.

My dog ate the wires off my snowmobile trailer and it's too cold out to rewire the whole thing. Bought this and it saved the day! Won't be missing snowmobile season because of the pesky pooch. Good quality and sturdy. The magnets are not super strong but held up going 100km/h on the highway with no bumps. Works good and price is right.

This is a great purchase for the money. The magnets are very strong - however my trailer has unpainted galvanised steel panels so that helps. People with painted steel panels may find the magnets lose a bit of strength. The wiring used is for temporary use - so you can't leave these lights on forever because the sun and rain will eat away the wiring. Which is just fine because they are indeed for temporary use. Very easy to install and remove. I have tried using some wireless models and they are absolutely useless - this is a great purchase!

Used this the first time late last week, on a trailer that I was taking to be painted so I had removed all the lights. It worked great for the first 5 miles from my house and that was when I glanced back and noticed the passenger side light was gone. Unfortunately there was no place to pull over for another mile or so and by the time I stopped the lens was destroyed as was the plastic box that holds everything and the bulb. I purchased this awhile as the trailer was supposed to go to paint a month ago but weather has delayed everything so I am beyond the return period so I guess I'm stuck with an unusable set of lights. Guess I will see if I can salvage them and repair them but I'm not overly hopeful, after taking a closer look there is no repairing this. Will likely end up cutting up for wire since the lights are junk. Would spend a little more money and get a clamp on set or a set with better magnets.

The only issues I have is that the lights seemed to be wired backwards. While putting them in their logical position, I found that the left and right were reversed. Perhaps that was just a wiring goof on mine and it was easy enough to swap them around, but it could have been simpler if it were right. The wire lead could have been a little longer too as I had to put in a splice of three feet. I used this to put lights on my Jeep Wrangler while flat towing it behind an RV, so maybe the length would be okay for a small trailer. I also attached them with a bungee cord because the back bumper is more plastic than steel and the magnets didn't get enough attraction. Overall, they do what they are supposed to do at an affordable price.
