My 2005 Honda Element was having "hard" shifts from first to second gear. Other than that it worked fine. I did two transmission oil changes but the hard shift still remained. I took it to two transmission shops each of which said I needed a rebuild and quoted between $3500 and 4000. I had done some reading about this hard shift issue and decided it was worth the fifty bucks plus an hour of labor to try to avoid the big rebuild. Bottom line is that this product worked. Transmission shifts like new.

As I was skeptical of this product, I feel compelled to review. The solenoid arrived on time and was packaged well. It was of equivalent weight to the OEM solenoid. You do have to install the o rings. I used a little bit of oil on them. Paint does flake off solenoid when you are handling it, so be careful around that and the o rings. My 2003 Honda CRV had been in storage for 3 years, and when I took it out it struggled to shift. Hard shifting in all gears, rpms soaring above 6000, and then when it heated it up, it would not shift into overdrive. I did a full flush of the fluids (4 times!) but that didn't correct it. (I also replaced the other single solenoid which I believe is for ovedrive.. I will review that one also). When I bench tested the old solenoids, they did click and push the pistons, so I was uncertain if the solenoids were actually the issue. But they were one thing I could replace so I went for it. To access the solenoids, I removed the battery box and air cleaner, both of which were very difficult due to rust and I had to do some cutting, drilling. Once I had access to the solenoids, they were very easy to replace. 6 bolts on this one, and 4 on the other solenoid. I also replaced the transmission filter which is below the solenoid. I used the OEM part which you can buy on Amazon for around $20. Put it back together and it shifted perfectly on test drive. So I know it corrected the problem. How long it lasts is unknown, but at least now I know what the issue is.

My 2002 was shifting slow and hard. Occasionally D light would start blinking. Prior to buying this part I had already removed the factory part and confirmed bottom solenoid was not actuating with 12v power. . Installed this part and immediately had smooth shifts.Only a couple of miles testingI will update review if I have any issues.

I was told I needed a transmission rebuild at $4500. This fixed the problem. Transmission is back to normal.

So it's painted with this flakey silver crud but I'm gonna use it anyway cuz we'll ... It's gonna have to work for now. Disappointed though.

My transimission was making rough shifts skipping gears and delayed shifts i replaced the solenoid and it Works as expected had it installed for 3 weeks now, no issues so far.Do research to find the exact part for your car, there's a similar-looking solenoid with a different part number but its not recommended for some models
