Product looked okay in packaging, removed my failed holset actuator and installed this one. Note on the smaller bolts is not the same length as the original. Not ok. Programmer/calibrate tool does not work at all. When it’s plugged in the red light stays solid and the middle green stays flashing before even pressing the button. Total waste of my time and money. Do not buy. Will attempt to return

Instructions are simple- install the device, do the calibration, done. But what do you do when your vehicle will not calibrate properly?? It’s a relatively quick and simple thing to do- four screws and one plug.Well, I removed my old actuator, cleaned the surfaces with a shop towel, and made sure not to move the gear on the turbo. I properly lubed the turbo gear with a few drops of white grease, and installed the new actuator with the four bolts and the electrical plug.I then attempted the calibration, and ran into a problem. The instructions say to put the truck in the “on” state by pressing the start button twice without stepping on the brake and then plug in the programmer. Simple enough, so I put the truck in the “on” state, plug in the programmer, wait three seconds for the three lights to go away, leaving the red light which indicates that the truck is ready to program. All good so far..Once I press the button on the programmer, it is supposed to blink the green light a couple times while it is running the actuator from full open to full close, and you are supposed to hear it happening. This is where things go wrong: the programmer never stops blinking green (even after leaving it for 20 minutes) and I never hear the actuator moving from one position to the other, I retried the instructions numerous times (20x at least) with no changes to the outcome. When I drive the truck, I only get about 30% of my proper boost level, and then I start getting error codes for overboost and improper position of the actuator with regard to demand.I am returning this product and going with a known good product. I had to jack up my truck, temove my tire, take out my wheel well, attempt to adjust, reinstall wheel well, reinstall tire, take down off the jack EACH TIME I ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST. What a pain. Can’t say I didn’t try.

Put on an expensive Dorman that would not calibrate. Tried my luck with this one. Quite clear instructions. Worked right away. Road test and its working like it should. I guess time will tell.

This actuator saved me big bucks! Dealership wanted $3400 to replace the actuator on my 2017 Ram 2500. Parts store wanted $1900 just for the part. It took about three hours to replace it myself with no special tools(YouTube it). Drain the coolant and u prolly have to cut off the lower left retainer bolt from the original(YouTube it). After that, it’s easy. And you can check the movement of your turbo slide yourself. Some dealerships have been known to try to replace the entire turbo when it doesn’t need it.

Dealer wanted over $2000 for a 2.5 week wait in the middle of prime snowplowing season.Had this in a week, fraction of the price. Saved me over $1500 as well as saved me from having to pay someone else to do my snow plowing for me.10/10 recommend

Had intermittent U10C fault to begin with. Didn't have any performance issues for a few months. Problem got worse and started seeing a P00AF and P003A fault as well. Actuator eventually stopped working and I had no boost at all. I wanted to purchase a City Diesel actuator but budget was tight and they were 3-4 weeks backordered. Bought this one, opened up the box, everything seemed of decent quality. Didn't feel like a cheep knock off part anyways. Instructions are super vague. If you are not familiar with these repairs, you may want to watch a YouTube video first. Anyways, it took longer to drain coolant than it did to replace the actuator. This one comes with the calibration tool which worked on the first try. Have about 500 miles on it so far with zero issues. I will update this review when it fails.

I changed it on my 2016 ram 2500 diesel. The bottom left allen bolt needed a m5 allen bit and a 1/4” box end socket which was the hardest part. The other 3 bolts came right out. There’s one 10mm that you reuse. I didn’t drain coolant first and lost about 3gallons on my workshop floor and had to use a ton of stay dry granules so I’d suggest a Rubbermaid bin underneath to catch. Those three gallons and also have 3new 50/50 gallons ready to refill. Also I used a air rotary ziz wheel with scuff pad to clean the surface it if you don’t have one I’d probably use some Emory cloth or sand paper and clean up the surface. I set the turbo gear to the left as I’ve read in other places and bolted everything up. Turned to the on position without stepping on break and plugged the obd2 plug on. It lit up red then I pressed the button and green flashes for a few seconds as I heard the gear moving then went to solid green and red on bottom. I turned off and unplugged. Then refill coolant and test drive. It ran much better. I used my blue driver to clear the codes and viola a two hour approximately 700$ repair that the dealership wanted 3500-4500 for. We’ll see how the part holds up but if I get 50k miles and have to do it again it’s still a solid deal compared to a holset actuator. Feel free to send me any questions if you need help talking through it. It’s really a super easy job that just takes patience especially with that bottom bolt. Good luck. So far I fully endorse this product and it is working well for me. Thanks.
