Exactly as expected on the stretchy (& thin) gloves, but was pleasantly surprised to find a fleece layer inside the hat. My son is 3.5 yrs old & has always had a “top of growth chart” head size. I went with the larger size because I saw the reviews saying the hat ran small. It fit great & the ear flaps kept him so warm! The gloves are too big because they are a typical youth size. They will fit him by the time he’s 5, we’ll just hang on to them. We used the hat to top off his (black & yellow) Batman costume on Halloween night!
