Received the cooler in original packaging when opened up everything was packed very nicely yet the corner of the shroud was slightly bent no big deal I closed it up until it was time to install which was a mistake because my return window expired by the time I tried to install I found that one of the bungs wasn't fully threaded so the threaded boss fitting would not seat and only go about half way in rendering the cooler useless. It's a shame because this cooler seemed really nice wish it would have worked out for me. Do yourself a favor and double check this if you order one also the thermostat fitting is fairly cheap I would order the upgraded one it comes with the same thermostat but a way better AN fitting and a heat sink adapter that the thermostat threads into to further prevent leaks.

I used it on my VW bus, works amazing. Just upgraded the oil rings. They looked to thin, just to be oil leak free.

Beast of a transmission cooler. Removed the junk cooler a mechanic installed on my Silverado 2008 and replaced it with this Derale 15960. My truck went from easily hitting 200 to 225 degrees just from casual commutes to the 140 to 165 range without the fan on! Transmission cooler was very simple to install, at least for me since I just removed the old cooler and reassigned the hoses. Wired the fan to my fog lights instead of using the sensor it comes with. In my case I can just manually turn on my fog lights to trigger the fan. I did need to reverse the direction of the fan but that was a quick fix by switching the ground and power wire around.

Complete kit with most every thing you need to install. I needed a little extra wire, more hose, and connectors to attach it to my 3/8" lines as this is half inch.Thermostat is nice as it only comes on when you need it. I've gotten it close to 220 once on a very long high mountain pass going very fast with a full load in hot weather. Otherwise it keeps it cool in most all situations.

Product was as described and easy to install. Dropped temp 15 degrees while i tow a 6500 lb. Travel trailer in 103 degree heat. Transmission now runs cool under the heaviest loads! I strongly suggest you flare the metal lines before you slide on the rubber line supplied for a more secure connection. 5000 miles and no issues.

Nice cooler, great fan, works well. The kit that comes with it is marginal. They provide nice AN fittings on the cooler and adapters, then neck down to barbed fittings with hose clamps to finish off the kit.The thermostatic switch mount is pretty cheap. On ours, the threads in the adapter block were crazy loose for the switch itself. Even using thread sealant as recommended, it weeped tranny fluid. We ended up using a light coating of black rtv to seal it up. If it leaks again, I will upgrade to the npt fitting version Derale sells (that should just come with this kit to begin with).

Great piece of hardware. Using on a turbo car that oil has reached 240 degrees. will set up & see what temps show. did bench test & dropped temps drastically. fan is noticeably a bit on the loud side. Couldn't resist purchase since I got it on a warehouse deal. A little scratched up but hey, it's going behind a front bumper so who cares!

Works well for the most part, be very careful with the o-ring fittings when tightening them the o-ring will squish out and leak!!! I went to ace and bought thicker o-rings... Wish they would just pipe thread the cooler!!! Works well though other than that, haven't had the Trans get warm enough to kick the fan on yet though. Keeps it cool, brand new rebuild and wanted a great cooler, hasn't gone over 160* with the addition of the derale deep pan with cooling tubes, will see what it does with a load behind it eventually, brand new engine too, 25 miles on it so far!!!
