About this item

  • Mounts as a Pusher or Puller without flipping blade or switching motor leads
  • State-of-the-art symmetrical design
  • High Output 265 watt 2 speed motor (two separate turn-on sources required for 2 speed operation)
  • 2400 CFM on high speed / 1800 CFM on low speed

Derale's most popular, this 17 inch High Output Single RAD fan is a self-shrouded, symmetrical design with fDerale's molded mounting points. Motivated by a 2-speed 265 watt Bosch motor driving 11 patented skewed blades, it can be used as a pusher or puller fan by simply flipping brackets without changing direction of the unit. Moves up to 2400 CFM while drawing up to 23.5 amps.

These fans are garbage. I’ve purchased two. Both fail after one year. Save your money.

Put this as a pusher fan on my SBC swapped YJ, fit nicely and seems to move a lot of air and is much quieter than my last fan. If I ever need another fan I'll definitely be using Derale.

I have an LS swapped 1995 Wrangler and was having cooling problems with another name brand electric fan. I saw the CFM ratings on this fan and gave it a try. One fuse and relay for low speed, a second fuse and relay for high speed. Worked flawlessly for 16 months (12 month warranty) until it didn't. Heading to a softball game I notice the temp gauge is climbing. Stop in a parking lot and find that the low speed fuse is not just blown, it melted! Not sure what caused it to fail so gloriously. Shopping the fan market I still didn't find a better performing fan than this one so I ordered a replacement and it seems to be working fine. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Installed one on a customers Scout II and wired it to the Holley EFI for fan #1 on at 180 and hooked to the Low Speed wire and fan #2 on at 195 and hooked to the High Speed wire. I nor any of my techs not even the customer could tell a speed difference between the low speed and the high speed fan.I’m also not a fan of having a cage on both sides of the fan asym. I think the install and the performance might have been better if the side towards the radiator would have been open and not boxed in by the plastic grill.

I used this fan on my ls swap. I was having trouble keeping it cool in 4low and this fan helped my problem tremendously. Easy to install.

Installed on a Chevy Blazer with SB 350 engine. This is a two speed fan with a very strong High speed.Has a guard on both sides of the fan with a finer guard on the radiator side.Removed original, metal fan and installed this as direct replacement.Wired the Low speed to come on as soon as engine starts (aka like when the engine fan starts turning as soon as the engine is started).Connected the High speed to a 190(on)/180(off) thermal switch mounted on intake manifold.Used two separate relays for each speed.Rarely goes into high speed even in desert treks.
