Had to change one in my wife Jeep Liberty Limited. Bought the kit with the tie rod ends. Nicely done and packaged. If and when I have to replace one in my Liberty Sport, I will by another one.

I installed this rack and pinion myself and everything worked fine (I am a very competent home mechanic). I had to replace my existing rack and pinion before a road trip. I took a 600 mile road trip and it worked just fine. A day later after driving around town I saw that there was a big leak under my vehicle. After inspection I saw that the new rack and pinion was leaking from the seal where the inner tie rod connects. I called Detroit Axle and they pointed the blame on me saying that they triple test all their products and it was my fault it failed. They were wiling to ship me a new one after they received this one and inspected it. Well I was 600 miles from home and I did not have any of my tools with me so I could not pull the rack and send it to them. They were not willing to pay for shop labor even though I was stranded far away from home. So I was forced to pay a shop to install a new rack and I had to pay for a new rack. It cost me $1,200 in order to have a shop replace the rack so I could get home. This is not acceptable on a brand new rack. Do not buy this or order anything from this company! They say they warranty their product, but they could care less if you are stranded because their product failed. It's not like this rack was years old, it was new with only 600 miles.
