I paid $204 for the steering rack and pinion and then paid $400 to install the item at a local mechanic but the item was defective and was leaking. So I called the Detroit Axle customer service and they wouldn't send a replacement without me paying again.

Steering rack for 2002 Toyota Sienna arrive almost 3 weeks late. Got the part installed and the mounting boss for the high pressure P/S line actually cracked off the unit. At this point I had to purchase a more expensive unit locally because my customer was running out of patience so I had to eat the added cost. (Also had to eat the alignment to make the lady happy). Made my request to Detroit Axel to refund the money. Was sent an email to contact their customer service person. I called the provided number and left a message. I got no response back. Was sent a second request I emailed back with my phone number and pics of the deflective part. Again, no response back. They had no problem charging my card when I made the purchase and yet took them more than 2 weeks to refund my money AFTER they received the part back. If you're a business owner and are trying to save a customer a few dollars this is NOT the way to go. Poor quality, poor service. Poor experience.

I ordered this item and my mechanic installed it but he noticed both of the tie rod end are no good. The rubber seal were off and can not replace.
