This thing is sharp and will bore through wood quickly. My small cordless drill can drive it about 6" through walnut, but that's all. You really need a corded, power drill with a side handle to handle this bit. Works great from what I can tell. Comes with a nice protective plastic sleeve.

I bought this for residential wiring it did a a great job on basement headers I hit a couple nails and didn't seem to hurt it
