I was fortunate enough to replace the rod bearings with this item before it threw one. The bearings look really bad, but the rod journals were still good. All I had to do was slap these in. It's not a hard job at all. The upper oil pan comes out without much of a hassle. I didn't even have to take off the timing chain cover. Now the car doesn't knock at all. This item is the fix if you have a noisy second gen Prius. Perfect fit!
