solid, well made and inexpensive. What every fisherman needs every 30 years on older boats, these make the boat look new again, lots of room to kleat off dock lines. Good side kleats up to 40'- 50' boats.

This appears to be a well made, round edge cleat that won't damage my ropes as other fold-down style cleats did. I would (and have) buy these again.

The manufacturer sure didn't spend much time making surfaces flat or ensuring the holes are a straight and consistent diameter. I had to use several drill-bits to get the holes straightened and de-burred of casting-marks (because I was trying to use 1/2"-bolts).

Is it a cleat - yes. Does it work - sort of.Here’s the deal:1 - The cleat only accepts hex bolts that are secured from below the board the cleat is attached to. This means you cannot affix the cleat to your dock unless you can get under the board it is going onto. That is you cannot use a lag bolt or a screw to attach the cleat from above. It can only be bolted on from below.2 - The Hex size is metric. Where we are Home Depot doesn’t stock metric hex’s long enough to go through a two-by-six and the cleat. Using the non-metric alternative means the cleat wiggles. Super annoying. If only they made it with a round receiver end so any kind of bolt and a washer And you would have a product with a good review.
