My dog loves being brushed, but this year he got into some burs and also matted on his back legs. Usually he is not a problem working through those things with the previous brush I use. After brushing him with this, he began to try to walk away. Then it became his head snapping around as if i was hurting him and now he won't let me approach him with this brush. I don't know if he just turned into a big baby all of sudden or this brush scratches his skin as the tips of the metal seem "raw" to me. They are not rounded and pulled it across my own hand. Yep it hurts. In the donation box it goes. Hope I can convince my big boy to return to me with using a different brush instead of run away.

A de-shedding rake is for DOUBLE coated breeds of dogs. If you use it on anything else, it won't do much more than a standard brush. I would NOT recommend the rake for a cat. It is much too large and is best used for heavily shedding animals. I tried to use the small comb on my cat and it definitely got out hair, but was so small and tedious it wasn't a practical thing to use for just grooming. Keep in mind your pet and their coat type when buying this. The rake feels like good quality but the small comb handle is hollow plastic.

I ordered GENPEPADO Dog & Cat Grooming Rake without looking at the actual dimensions (4 1/3" wide X 6" long). I just looked at the Golden Retriever and the hand holding it and thought that was the grooming tool for me. (I wish vendors would stop doing that, truth in advertising would be nice, but fool me once I guess.) It does worked well pulling out the loose undercoat hair, but it's really too small for a big dog. It's doable, although not optimal, on my Springer Spaniel. I do like the double row of teeth on the rake because it seems to work better than my single row rake. I'm not sure the included comb is going to work on my dogs--they have too much hair and the teeth are super close together. If you have small dogs or cats, this would be a good choice.

This does brush the animals hair well but it doesn’t remove the loose hair that well. The teeth are too far apart. It’s very sturdy and well

The Genpepado Cat and Dog Grooming Rake and Comb works great, it can brush my cats and make sure there's no uninvited guest over (fleas). I'm using this for my cats so they work perfectly. I was able to get rid of lots of hair. The size of this brushes are perfect for small dogs and cats. So far I like how well this brushes have done their job. I'm pleased with this product. Highly recommended.

I have 2 doodles, one with a lab type of coat and on with a curly almost poodle type of coat. This rake works GREAT on both of them ,they dont like being brushed but they dont mind the rake. The one with the poodle type of coat gets really tangled -almost daily use of this rake has seemed to prevent the tangles WIN!!!, the one with the lab coat shed like crazy this rake gets so much of her hair in it, may cut down a bit on the shedding. Easy to clean the hair out of the rake when done.

We bought this because we have 5 cats that need grooming often, especially when shedding season starts. One of the cats is short haired. Four are long haired, but one of those is gray-silver- white, and his white fur is more like fluff, and if the fur that's been shed is not removed almost daily, it will develop into mats very quickly. So, with different types of fur to contend with, we were going to put this brush to the test immediately.We used this on the short haired cat first. She cannot stand to be brushed. However, with this Ace2Ace brush, she sat still a lot longer than usual and we were able to remove a lot of her undercoat without any issue. We used the brush that has the two rows of teeth. The cat is all black, but we took out a ton of gray undercoat within minutes. We were one for one at this point.Next we used the brush on the silver-gray-white long hair cat. He is very tolerant of everything, always has been. We used the brush with the two rows of teeth as well, and removed a good amount of undercoat. Then we felt a large mat on his tail, and used the tool that looks like a comb. We were able to take care of more than 80% before he got aggravated and ran away. 2 for 2.The remaining 3 long haired black cats all sat still long enough for some s rows of teeth raking of their undercoats. They each seemed to enjoy it at first, then when they had enough they would jump down. But all in all, it was productive for each of these 3 kitties. We are now 5 for 5.The handle on both tools is very comfortable and was easily used for almost an hour without any hand discomfort or potential blisters forming. We have never had a comb or brush like this before, but always wanted one like this. All of the undercoat you comb out of your pet's coat is less that will end up on the floor, wall, or couch and on your clothes. Any pet owner would benefit from this rake-comb combo. I got this for my Berniedoodle but the tines are a bit too short, it does work good for my Maltese whose coat isn't as thick
