These scissors came as described. Now that I've used them I would say I'm 90% okay with using them without poking my dog. I wish they were a little bit shorter so that I can get closer. But other than that I do like these scissors and I think they're made of good quality.

Myself, I really like these pet shears and have used them a few times already on both a dog and a cat. The blunt tip is just what I needed to trim the facial and head hair of a very nervous Yorkie. The cat, long haired also, didn't mind when I used them to cut away a few mats. All in all, a good find, and I do recommend.

You can tell from the steel's look and the cut's smoothness that these aren't scrapbooking scissors. Both blades are curved to shear optimally, and the pivot is unnoticeable, so it is perfect. The finger holes are ringed with a rubber-like substance, and the stabilizer can be screwed off if you don't shear that way. These are nice scissors for finer work, not for hogging off locks. Very astute pets will be flattered that you are going to trim their nethers with these fine blades.

The weight of the scissors is fine, but the balance could be improved.The tip of the blade is rounded to avoid cuts, but since it's a large tip, it's hard to use in tight areas. It could be a smaller size.The blade is slightly curved, so it's not great for a final straight trim.If you grab a chunk of hair, it doesn't do a better job than my regular inexpensive scissors, but it's fine for a thin cut.Overall, I didn't like it.

I use these to help trim my hair, I like the tips are rounded so I can't accidentally stab myself with them. Nice and sharp, good for trimming.
