I have been using this product for a little over four years and my three cats are plaque free. They never took issue with the taste which I sprinkle on their food daily. One of my kitties is nearly 15 years old, and the other two brother and sister kitties are nearly 14 years old. Recently my vet told me that if he didn't know these cats' ages from their records, that he would estimate their ages at half that or less. To be honest, I attribute their excellent health in part to Mad About Organics All Natural Dog & Cat Plaque Remover Dental Food Additive.I started using this product after one of the kitties, who at the time was a little over ten years old, had a $350.00 dental bill due to a very bad plaque build up and resultant tooth decay. She consequently had to have a couple of molars removed. I felt like so bad about her teeth loss and I had two other kitties that had plaque build up as well. So I was looking at a minimum bill of a couple of hundred dollars for each of the other two (their plaque problem was not as bad)So I started looking for an alternative treatment to remove and prevent plaque. None of my cats would put up with having their teeth brushed - so that attempt ran another $50.00 or so dollar experiment that failed. Then I stumbled across the Mad About Organics Oral Care powder on Amazon, which had very good reviews. I eat all organic and feed my pets all organic - so the fact that this product is organic is something I particularly appreciate. But I was frankly a little skeptical. However, after reading the reviews (which were all mostly very high ratings), I decided it was worth the price to see if it worked.I was amazed that the other two kitties plaque problems cleared up within a few months, and ever since then none of the three cats have any plaque at all. It did take awhile but was definitely worth the wait. I don't think anesthesia is ever a good idea if it is possible to avoid it as it is known to be more dangerous than most surgery - for humans or pets. For those who think this product is expensive, you use an amazingly small amount (which is based on weight) once a day. A small spoon comes with the product and I would say that spoon is less than or equal to an 1/8 of a teaspoon. Based on my cats weight, two kitties get one scoop and the larger kitty gets one and a half scoops per day. A 4 ounce jar lasts about a month and a half for my three cats. So compared to a vet bill to put your pet under and clean their teeth and perhaps have to remove some teeth - well, do the math and consider the inherent risks. So I highly recommend this product, and have recommended it to several friends who have also had excellent results with their cats and or dogs. Just remember that it may take awhile - probably dependent upon how much and how old the plaque build up is. If your dog or cat has years of plaque build up it may be best to have your vet clean their teeth as good oral health definitely supports overall good health - but afterwards, this product would be an excellent preventative method to keep your pets teeth plaque free!

What a life saver! And a money/time saver too! I have a three year old Australian Shepherd mix whose teeth weren't in terrible condition to begin with, but I was starting to notice some plaque build-up despite her being a pretty avid bone chewer. After hours (yes, literally hours) of researching products online, I happened upon this wonderful stuff! It was either this or start brushing her teeth. Knowing myself and my dog, I realized the teeth brushing wasn't going to happen, at least not regularly enough to make a real improvement, so I decided to give this plaque remover a try, and I'm so happy I did! It works wonderfully! At first, I was a little concerned by some of the mixed reviews, but one other reviewer had some advice which really helped. He/she said that you need to stick with it for a couple months before visibly noticeable improvement will start to become apparent. We're just about finished with the first 4oz container after almost four months (the scoop in the container is so tiny the product lasts quite a while) and her teeth are as white as when she was a young pup. She's a larger dog (about 75lbs) and my partner and I were very consistent in making sure she received the supplement each and every day. I feel that some of the bad reviews are perhaps due to people lacking consistency or not sticking with the product for long enough. She continues to chew her bone regularly, which helps remove the loosened plaque, but I am certain that this product has improved her dental health beyond what chewing alone could have accomplished. The price may be a little daunting, but with the longevity of the product and the fact that it actually works, I really don't mind paying it. Plus, $22 is a lot cheaper than a vet bill for anesthetic and a teeth cleaning procedure, not to mention the safety concerns of anesthetic use. I love that the product is made with organic and minimal ingredients, no added bad stuff. There isn't enough of anything in the product to hurt your animal, and there are instructions provided on the label for different weight classes, so it would last even longer for smaller dogs/cats. The fact that it helps keep insects off and helps with digestion are just added bonuses as far as I'm concerned. The best bonus though? Hassle-free dental care for pet! Scoop, sprinkle, done! She doesn't seem to mind (or notice) the taste at all. Absolutely will order again! Cheers!

My holistic vet recommended this for natural pest control. I choose the miniscule amount of garlic in this Oral Care vs the literal poison of traditional flea control. My dog has been getting this once a day in her food for about a decade. Her labs have always been normal. She is now 13 y.o. and is scheduled for her first dental cleaning next month.

I originally got this for my dog's breath but I have found that it is great for her digestion as well!Breath:Their products work great for the breath, but I use multiple methods so I can't say for a fact that it's all this brand. I use this brand's products (liquid and powder), dental treats, hard dried lamb tripe, and hard dried turkey gizzards for her teeth and breath because she refuses to have her teeth brushed.Digestion:She is a super picky eater, so I have to constantly change her food because she won't eat the same food more than 3 times in a row and will refuse to eat up to 3 days before she cracks and eats what's in her bowl. It's painful to watch so I caved and now alternate between brands, between paté for breakfast and kibble mixed with a teaspoon of a raw food mixture for dinner. However switching up her food gives her very loose stools. I found that half a scoop of this powder mixed in with every meal keeps her digestion perfectly healthy and her stool regular, not too loose and not too hard. Any more than half a scoop and she gets constipated. She's ~10lbs, Yorkie/Bichon mixed breed.
