Had a issue with my 97 silerado not engaging in 4wd. Replaced with this actuator and it works again.

was able to squeeze this between the front shaft yoke and TC. wouldnt line up exactly at first so i plugged it in and hit the 4wd button then back to 2wd and slid right in

Put on my 2001 dodge dakota with service 4wd illuminated and no lights on 4wd switch. Troubleshot the issue and found the electric shift motor had no resistance between the two prongs which means the motor coils are shorted together. Water dripped out when I pulled the plug to the shift motor so probably a failed little rubber seal for the plug. Installed this and all is working fine now. Made sure to put silicon all around the plug. Shifts better than before but the motor is a bit louder when shifting. Actually sounds cooler imo. It's Dorman so no clue how long it will last. Heard they have been improving their products since they bought another part company. Have had good luck with two other Dorman parts I've put on a few years ago. Only time will tell.

First time working on anything drivetrain-wise, so this was a real pain in the neck to install for a rookie like me, however after all was said and done: I have working four wheel drive again.The motor works as is intended. The price wasn't horrific, and I actually have 4wd Lo and Hi but I still have the blinking light on my selector switch panel so there is more maintenance to be done.

Didn’t like that it didn’t fit. Made for npc1 I have the npc2. Said it was fit looked right but didn’t mention this.

my 2001 dodge dakota 4 wheel drive got stuck in 4 low,the dealer wanted $1200.00 for repair,are they off there meds?????this part controls the 4 wheel drive i did it myself in 20 mins with 2 tools,only had to remove 3 bolts and 2 wire plugs.works
