With a lot of Dorman stuff, you have to buy the kit with stuff you don't need. That's my only real complaint. Now I have the other style covers just sitting on my shelf waiting for an opportunity. I needed the GM lead covers. They go on fine and hold the side terminal bolt about right. Gave some resistance first time screwing the terminal bolt down, like I had to push down hard to get the bolt to catch, but it worked, didn't prevent contact, and didn't need modification. I assume they will mash down over time so it's not as much effort next time.

These terminal covers are less pliable than the OEM part. They fit very well once you get the terminal bolt and cable end in place. I had to insert the terminal bolt first, then slide in the cable end and pry it over the bolt, forcing it into position. A bit tricky, but it fits like a glove. VERY HAPPY!

I bought these to repair a side-post terminal that was cut off my batteries' wiring harness. They fit well and work as good as original equipment. It would be nice if the kit had only side-post and only top-post covers for each specific application, but at the price point I'm not complaining. Use the one's you need and donate the others to a friend.

I needed to replace the negative battery terminal guard on my 05 silverado, so I got this kit. The eyeless guards won't work on my application, but maybe someone I know could use them. I've used numerous Dorman parts and I've never had any issues!

There is a raised edge around the circular opening where the bolt goes through. It holds the eyelet on the cable off of the battery which will not allow the eyelet to touch the battery terminal. I have to take a razor blade and shave the raised edge of and it worked. I was installing them on a 2007 GMC Envoy.

looks to be decent quality. Unfortunately, too big for my usage as a cover for the side post terminals on my optima yellowtop.

one of Dorman/HELP's best products for GM vehicles with side mount battery cables. I used them on old cables that have corroded to keep from replacing the whole cable. only wish they came as a pair because I have no good use for the top post covers.
