Ok, so after removing harmonic the old crank seal just fell out of the cover. I used this cover and put a layer of jb weld around the metal part of the crank seal and cover. It will not fall out of this one. Sealed well, no leaks. Overall the cover is just fine.

Once again, the Dorman item is supposed to be installed on a 1993 Chevrolet Blazer Silverado 4x4 with 5.7L engine from the factory. Once it arrived & opened the item in person, I found it can't just install it. The factory 5.7L engine has a factory pin on both side to guide the cover driven in at GM. The Dorman cover ALSO has a pin built into the cover to fit into the front of the engine. Removing a pin that doesn't be pulled out will keep the cover from fitting sealing against the block. I'll call them Monday and find out why there is an issue in person and no information why they would claim the cover can't fit.

Fit perfect on my 5.7 vortec. Will fit almost and truck 5.7 TBI or Vortec as it comes with the know sensor block off for some fitments. Only thing that I absolutely hate are the bolts and bolts Rubber Grommets. Be careful not to over tighten!!!! The rubber grommet makes it very easy to do (this was my first time doing a Timing cover btw).Also in the future for me I will be purchasing the metal style Timing Cover with stronger Timing Cover bolts. Great value and no leaks so far so probably will be a little while before I do that upgrade.Seems to be a little bit stronger than my original Timing covers but maybe because my motor has 320k miles. This is a great purchase but maybe upgrade to a metal timing cover if you prefer.

After 1 hr running I had a leak. Found the seal loose and leaking in the housing. Housing bore and seal seemed to measure ok but ordered a new seal and used proper sealant instead of nothing like it was

I like that it arrived the Time they said.easy to install . matches perfect even came with a plug off plate for crank sensor if you don't want the crank sensor then you have the option to do away with it.installed it but yet to see if it last and no leaks .don't like the fact that you have to pay so much for it just to find out that if it leaks you have to replace it Everytime no second chances can't remove it if you do then you have to pay to replace the whole thing a get pricey if you have to replace it Everytime.
