I was having speedometer issues which were very hard to diagnose. It turns out that the speed sensor wires had worn down as they passed under the engine and were grounding out on the oil pan. I bought this before I realized what the problem was, and it could have been fixed by simply splicing the wires back together so there wasn't a bare spot. However, I found the bare spot when I was replacing the old connector with this and haven't had any issues since.

I fix shifting problems just replacing speed sensor and this connection help me a lot.

2003 Buick Rendezvous, experiencing the mysterious odometer issues. When driving on wet roads, the odometer would fall to zero and stop working until you parked it for a few hours and it dried out. Replacing the sensor did not solve the problem. Replacing the harness did. Upon replacement, I noticed the white bracket present on the back of the new one was not present on the original, which leads me to believe it was damaged. Fixing this also helped reveal a problem with my odometer stepper motor. It is not working properly either, but we never would have known that without replacing the bad bracket and ending the condition of not working at all on wet roads. Give this a shot if you are having problems with your odometer failing to register in wet conditions.
