Fitted perfectly - no modifications required and the heat shield even fitted too.

Looks good, but a lot of grinding is needed to mask fit. Metal casting is poorly finished and bolts won't fit in head unless exhaust manifold burrs are ground down. ALSO. Exhaust manifold is thicker than intake manifold and must be ground down to be same thickness as intake so beveled washers that hold intake flange will sit crooked and not secure flush fit.ALSO Will not fit jeep wrangler with the shield attached. Part can work, but extra work is necessary. DO BETTER

Fitted 100% I was expecting to have to grind some area to make it fit. I had to kink the heat shield a little, but not much more was done.Pros: quasi perfect fit for a manual jeep tj 1999.Cons: heat shield is in the way. some o2 ports are built in and had no functionality.

Well if you have a 2.5L, they can be a pain in the exhaust manifold department, but this replacement required some massaging with a grinder on the intake manifold to fit. I could grind the cast iron of the exhaust manifold, but the aluminum on the intake was easier and faster. Having put it on, it sounded so much better, but now time has crept by, it sounds like the exhaust manifold has cracked. Last replacement lasted 5 years before it cracked, this one not too long. They are made in China, so I'm sure the iron is of a low grade quality. So......I may have to break down and put a header on it or do a engine swap and eliminate the 2.5 all together...

Good initial repair but will only last about 2 years before breaking.

I gave it a 3 star only because I know how to modify car parts, for the inexperienced auto mechanic...I would only rate it at a 1 star. I had to modify 3 places on the manifold just to get it to fit, which ment grinding down places that were too tall and other places that were too thick. Plus the heat shield had to be modified in order to get my intake to fit right. For a part that is suppose to fit right, IT DOES NOT FIT RIGHT! HAS TO BE MODIFIED! I would not recommend this part for an inexperienced auto mechanic as there is too much that can and will go wrong if done incorrectly.I knew what to expect because I read reviews before purchasing this product. If you are inexperienced, it's worth spending the extra money to get one that fits as specified.

The directions might say that the gasket is not recommended by Chrysler, but don't pay attention to that. Also you should check your oxygen sensor since your car has probably been running rich with that old cracked manifold, right?

Purchased this as a replacement for oem manifold for my 98' Wrangler 2.5L. Price was good so I thought I would give it try.The first issue was fit with regard to intake manifold. The intake manifold sits on top of the exhaust manifold on its underside. I mounted the exhaust manifold first which fit well by itself. When I went to mount the intake, it would not sit correctly between the number 3 and 4 cylinders The block has two mounting studs which align with two "eyes" on the intake. The "eye" tab on the intake was interfering with the exhaust manifold, so it would not seat. I remedied the problem by taking a file and grinding 1/8" of the underside of the tab.The second issue is the thickness of the mounting flanges compared to stock. The flanges are approximately 1/4" fatter than the oem unit thus 1/4" thicker than the intakes'. This is a problem because the exhaust and intake share a common stud in two locations. When I tightened the nuts the exhaust was tight but the intake was still loose. I solved the problem by fashioning shims to even out the difference in thickness. The third issue is an exhaust leak. After only 1 month, the manifold cracked by the number one cylinder. Its still drivable but will have to be repaired. This is a time and labor intensive repair. Save yourself time and grief by using a different product! I should have heeded the reviews. I have not tried even looked into the warranty yet.
