The original equipment exhaust manifolds on certain Jeep Wagoneer SUVs and Ram 1500 trucks are equipped with a cylinder deactivation system that shuts down four of the engine's eight cylinders during highway driving to improve fuel economy. This system causes two of the cylinder ports to cool while two remain hot, stressing the exhaust manifold to the point of warping or cracking. Manifold seems solid and much heavier duty than the stock manifold that had warped. CAUTION! The bolts included in this kit are not the correct ones for the 5th generation ram 1500. The 2 bolts for the exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe are correct though. The correct bolt kit is dorman #32134 for the passenger side and dorman #32135 for the driver side.
