As you turn or twist the retainer, it pulls the headliner creating a bit of a swirl.Delivery was quick.

Not bad. Application was a bid difficult because the screws have very dull tips, which necessitated using a real screw to first create pilot holes. Also the colors could be more customizable. Good for the price.

Received the packet of 18 as my head liner was starting to come down, found a couple in garage and they seemed to do the job so ordered more to cover the entire area. 18 plus the two I had worked great. When I received the product I was concerned that the screw top was flat (How's that going to work?). No problem, worked great, push hard until you hear contact with the head liner board then firmly push and twist. They went right in and stayed fast. They are black and I have a gray head liner but if you use a pattern of how you put them in it's not really a problem. No one has commented on them as it seems no one even looks at a head liner, unless it's sagging. Looks just fine and does the job without cutting and using glue spray that I've tried on another car I use to have, the glue doesn't really work, these do. An 18 pack is a good deal for the price and is just enough for most jobs, the nine pack is over priced and not enough retainers to do the job right.

TERRIBLE DESIGN! DO NOT BUY!The pointed tip of the screw is not pointed or sharp as it appears in the photos, but rather is flat and dull. The result is a screw that will not "bite" into the headliner and will not screw in. I had to throw them all out and use staples (which worked much better than this product). Complete waste of money!

These are a great product. I ordered these for a customers 91 Cadillac which had a sagging headliner. The liner is a dark blue, and these black retainers look good. For the very picky person, you may want to paint them to match the interior.In a smaller car, one pack should suffice. In a large car, or in my case a Cadillac, I would suggest two packs; I made the mistake of only ordering one, so I ordered another pack at a local parts store at a higher price, but oh well. I then ended using half of the second pack. In a full size pickup, I would suggest using two packs.They have been in the car for about 1 1/2 months, and I have heard no complaints.

Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the headliner on our 1998 Dodge Caravan started to pull loose from all sides and also from under the fixtures. Being on a limited income and not having the finances to pay to have it professionally repaired we thought about using spray on glue to reattach the loose headline cloth to the fiberboard. However, because of the age and the flakiness of the fiberboard, we realized that the glue would not adhere properly for any length of time. Our next through was to use tacks or pins, but because of vibration and their straight shafts they would in time drop out. Going onto Amazon I searched for a do-it-yourself kits to repair headliners and ran across the Dorman 74361 Headliner Retainers in packs of 18. Having nine feet of headliner to reattach and not knowing how well the retainers would work I ordered 3 packs. As it turned out the black, plastic retainers with their quarter sized heads screwed in quickly through the headliner cloth and the set firmly into the fiberboard. We ended up using only one and a part of a packages. The end result was a very nice looking headliner with buttons that blended in well with our dark blue interior. If you want a very low cost, quick and easy way to repair your headliner these retainers do an excellent job.

I have a old Ford Ranger that has a sagging headliner. I researched ways to fix it other than a complete replacement. I tried adhesive, but that won't work with crumbling foam. I thought about pins or tacks, but they just fall out. I thought about fabric pins, but they are too small.These things fit the bill perfectly. They are large, about the size of a quarter coin. They easily screw into the headliner, and hold it in place perfectly.Only negatives is that they don't come in any other color than black, but I guess you can easily paint them to match your headliner if you choose.
