This little gear, the dorman 747-411 has cost me a A LOT of money. I bought 2 of these for my 1987 Chrysler New Yorker Turbo ("Your door is ajar!") because the stock gears stripped out. One of the gears stripped out within a day, another took about 3 weeks. Each time the shop takes apart my door to put one of these on, instant $150. So I was already out $300 for the original fix ($150 x 2 windows), and then AGAIN when these failed ($150 x 2 windows).I ended up finding Cardone makes a window gear too, so I purchased that and me and the mechanic compared them side-by-side with the Dorman. You can see, feel, and "poke" the metal of both gears and right away note that the Dorman metal gear is somewhat mallable, not hardened. This is a design flaw. The Cardone is much less mallable, if at all, and does not strip out.Dorman - this isnt the first time you've sold me inferior replacement parts and cost me time and money (ask me about the Dorman encoder motor or the junk Dorman VVT solenoid for my SUV), but you wont get me again.... do yourself a favor and get the other brand. Unless you like taking things apart constantly, or paying someone to do it.

It works great so far. Only put the window up and down a couple times. Hope it lasts longer than some of the reviews I read.

The metal Gear stripped in a few days after installation. The window operation worked easily so it wasn't that I had a stuck window or hard movement up and down. The problem lied in a substandard small metal part. Do not purchase this brand you will be going to a lot of work for nothing.

Had three power windows on a 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury give up. The motor was running, but no movement. The nylon internals were shot, bought these to rebuild the motors, fit well and got everything back to top working order. Great price to fix all three, easy to install (once I got the doors apart lol).

Perfect fit replacement for 1989 Dodge B350 van. The motors rarely die, the plastic in the gears will disintegrate over time. Hoping this lasts the 30 years the first gear did. Would buy again when my other power window dies.Update - will not buy again, had to replace twice as the alloy metal gear teeth strip easily. First one lasted 12 months, second one lasted 2 months. This has happened with and without the window spring in place.

I’d have given it five stars if the new cover included had fit 100%, but its seal did not allow enough clearance to prevent excessive friction and binding, so I had to use the old cover. Otherwise, it’s a very complete kit, including the inner hub, the gear, and the shear rollers, along with new cover (that might work for you, just didn’t for me) and a packet of grease. Worked like a charm, and window motor is back in action. Anybody with an older Mopar that has power windows and uses this style window motor/gear needs to keep one or two of these on hand. The price is right, so why just replace the rollers if you can even find or make them?

This is a perfect replacement to the OEM. The price was right, it shipped fast, and best of all it did the job well. I've had to replace a lot of these over the years, and its a good idea to keep some handy in inventory. Its just a matter of time before they become obsolete. Its a great replacement part and Dorman has never let me down. I've bought many of them and will continue to do so should i need anymore for my 1988 Chrysler 5th Ave.

This new gear set did not include directions. But if you are mechanically inclined enough to have diagnosed the problem and disassembled the gear case, you'll have little or no trouble getting the unit re-assembled. The new parts are a little tight to go together, but will go with a push. ALL needed parts are included... inner and outer gears, 3 rollers that go between them, a package of grease, and a new screw for assembly. Getting the motor out of and back into the door is much harder than installing the new gears into the motor. Mine has been working very smoothly for over a month now.
