I was having a problem with my battery going dead, I also noticed that when I closed my trunk after locking the car doors, I could hear the door switch activate and sure enough when I went over and tried to open the door it was unlocked and opened when I tried to open it. After changing the door switch, I've had no further problems with the car battery. As a precaution I changed both door switchs as they are not expensive and after being in the car for 20 years it just made sense to change both of them.

Perfect replacement part. Arrived fast. A quick Youtube tutorial and a smallish flathead screwdriver is all you need to do this job yourself. Also fyi, I took apart the old broken switch and discovered the flaw. There is a tiny tiny white plastic peg that sits in a little hole deep inside the switch. Inside of that hole is a hidden spring. The pins job is to press into that spring when you push the switch so that the switch can return to nuetral position. Well, over time that tiny white plastic pin breaks in half so that there is no longer any pressure to force the switch back into nuetral position. I'd try to 3d print a little replacement peg/ pin but honestly these switches are so cheap i'd rather just buy new.

I bought two of these to replace OEM parts that had broken return spring pins. This is the second replacement I've done on two cars from the same time period. (A tiny piece of plastic the size of a cheap ballpoint pen tip is what pushes the big finger switch back to the middle position. Thanks, GM/AC Delco, for that brilliant design, guaranteed to fail eventually and need servicing.)These are working fine and snapped in without issue, but unfortunately snapped out pretty easy, too. Rather than return them and try to find another more expensive option, I decided to try carefully heating up a tab while pressing it outward. The result was a slightly burned bit of plastic (who needs warranties? lol ) on the first attempt but a better and secure fit inside the shroud for both pairs of tabs. Perhaps the company could review their molding process to produce tabs that grab better on this part.To be clear, these were the tabs on the black inner/middle switch housing. The white switch inside and outer black shroud don't seem to have such issues. I only made my modifications after testing that the switches were working properly and would otherwise fit. Almost three weeks later, no problems or loosening.

Fit perfectly in my 2000 Saturn Sl2. My car destroyed two used batteries and after buying a brand new battery I was terrified it would happen again so I would disconnect it when I wasn't working on the car. I was lucky that while working on something unrelated I heard the door locks start to frantically switch from locked to unlocked continuously making an odd noise. A little bit of research revealed the problem and I hopped on Amazon for a cheap fix. I am a young female with zero car experience and I installed this by myself in probably under 5 minutes total, from opening packaging to testing out the new lock. It was incredibly easy and it solved my "chattering" door locks problem instantly. Months later this problem has not resurfaced and my battery hasn't died once. I also only needed to replace the driver's side lock, because it was the only one worn down. This lock worked wonderfully and was definitely worth the purchase. Color and look wise it also matches all the other locks and looks great.
